Must be nice to be young and flexible, I can't remember that far back. Mary handled financial details and assisted with moving in all the material for the job. Entire crew was professional and courteous entire project."

"Sam Pickel and his father began their R&S roofing business more than 20 years ago. He was recommended to me by someone who'd been impressed with a precision guttering job he'd done at South Holston. I called and Sam and his wife came in the evening to inspect my damaged and leaking aluminum roof after a tree fell on the deck. They measured for materials and Sam clearly explained various quality / pricing options, and I felt good about making the necessary choices. He said candidly he doesn't negotiate price, that he and his father had always charged according to a fee schedule that was fair for a job done well. The end result was beautiful. I paid a deposit but before the work was completed I had to be away from the area. I was kept informed via email about the progress and his wife (who runs the office) sent photos. I then paid for the remainder of the cost. I was thrilled when I actually saw the new roof and guttering in person, but best of all was staying snug and dry during the heavy rains of this 2013 summer, when 95% of the annual rainfall had already fallen by July. I recommended R&S to a friend who needed a new roof, who was also pleased, and I just contracted with him to do work on my mother's house a year after my new roof. I have confidence that Sam Pickel is impeccably honest and fair, which significantly reduces the stress of paying for repairs.
I'm writing this review not to help him get more business, but because I'm doing a favor for anybody reading this who needs roof work done by an honest craftsman.

"I am extremely happy with the gutters and downspouts that Rife Remodeling and Flooring installed. They exceeded all my expectations regarding: 1. Cost 2. Time 3. Look/function 4. Honesty/integrity They completed the job same day, were professional, courteous, and trustworthy. The crew for Rife Remodeling and Flooring were left unattended with full access to the property and it's contents. When we got home that evening, the job was done, and they had completely cleaned up after themselves and left no debris in the yard or driveway. "Cleaned gutters. I was informed at the time of service that the charge for removing the leaf guards was not $50 (per the Angie's big deal) but $50 per RUN of gutters (I had four, two on the house and two on the garage). We settled on $100 extra rather that $200.  The guys offered to replace a seal on two vent pipes on the roof at $89 each.  I thought the price was too high and declined.

"I highly recommend these guys (and gal). They were very professional. My first experience was the quote. They came out exactly on time and gave me a quote on the spot. Next, I called to schedule the work. The were able to schedule my work within a week and showed up exactly when they said. To me this is important when dealing with contractors. They completed the job in less than 2 days. They were very knowledgeable about replacing gutters on my old house, and they look excellent. They even cleaned up all the old guttering when they left. I also asked them for a new quote on a roof. Highly recommend."

"Initially, everything went great. J.S. was the only company that responded to my request for a quote, and had someone out to identify the problem the same day, and someone out to do repairs the next day. The repairs were fairly extensive, but I felt like they did a good job for a fair price. However as I was having some different work done inside the house a couple of days later, we discovered another hole that needed to be fixed. It was missed the first time, but that part is understandable because it was hidden. I wanted to call them and have them come out and finish the job. I called multiple times, leaving messages, and also sent an email, and two weeks later still haven't ever heard back. I ended up having to call a different company to take care of the problem."
