"a friend of mine asked me to help him hire a basement waterproof-er. I found NV on Angie's list. the water was leaking into the basement from one main location. they dug the outside wall, did their thing and left. however after there was a heavy rain again it leaked in the exact same spot. the head contractor who originally dug it came out (Walter, nice guy). They dug, opened up dry wall etc. and found the leak was actually coming from around the front corner so it wasn't under warranty.. he ran it by the owner, had taken pictures etc. He was nice about it and seemed to feel bad. I called and spoke with John Forrester the owner.. I just explained that even though the leak was from a different location than they originally thought it was part of what we were paying for for them to figure out. He quickly agreed without argument and came back and fixed the area free of charge even though technically they didn't have to. I was impressed by this and that they stood by their work. They were also significantly less than the quote we got from Apex."

"Mr. Peredo is responsive, professional, and cleaned up well after work was complete.  The work was done in one day (he and one coworker), and for the exact quoted price in the estimate.  He was not familiar with using different mortar for such an old house (1919) with lime mortar and softer brick (which is not unusual), but I just bought the proper materials myself and he used that, so it was no big deal.
He used some of the extra concrete to repair something I had not mentioned at no extra charge, which is a clear sign of someone who I want to work with again.  I'll call him again when the weather is warmer for more concrete work.  Highly recommend.

"Steve Norfolk and his crew dug down to the footing and applied the waterproof material a section at a time.  The original plan was to dig the entire area first and then apply the waterproof material all at the same time.  However daily torrential rains turned the area into a sea of mud, so he decided to do it a section at a time to minimize problems associated with the rain.  He had to break up a concrete slab (porch) for 1/2 the front, and approximately 25 feet of driveway next to the house.  Progress was slow due to the rain and mud, but Steve steadfastly pursued the completion of the job despite the setbacks.  Although justifiably discouraged by the rain and lack of progress, he exhibited a positive "can do" attitude and kept at it.  The finished product was professionally done.  Backfill and all concrete were properly completed, and grass seed applied.  Steve is a conscientious professional who knows his business and can be relied upon to do the work he says he will accomplish.  I would use him again in a heartbeat.
