"Didn’t know this service existed and was searching for new window screens. Found the company in the search and to say the least, OVERLY IMPRESSED. Took two screens to the business and total time for work, 15 minutes!!! Sets a highmark for quality work. Could make extra money doing customer service training courses, everyone was friendly and professional as from phone to craftsmen."

"I highly recommend this company for window replacement. It is at the top end as far as cost is concerned, but they provide excellent product quality and performance in exchange. I love my new kitchen window and I would absolutely work with them again."

"8 years ago I purchased a house that was under renovation and had brand new Windows by Anderson. Within 6 months I realized that they were not doing their job and on the advice of a friend I called AAPCO to come out and explain to me why I was losing so much heat. The explanation I was given made sense so I replaced 13 windows with AAPCO windows and I never looked back. The workers were punctual, respectful of my property, did their job professionally and cleaned up behind themselves. I no longer lose heat or air conditioning and the tilt-in feature makes them so easy to clean. The staff at AAPCO is very helpful and will work with you. It's hard to find a company these days that does what they tell you they're going to do and stands behind their work. This company does."

"There were signs of foundation movement on our home – cracks by doors and sticking windows, - but we weren’t sure of the extent. We contacted the JES and BDry who sent inspectors. To our pleasant surprise, each inspector did not believe the damage he saw warranted their services. I want to commend each of them for their professional evaluation and would not hesitate to contact either of them again."

Windows questions, answered by experts

The cost of window installation depends on several factors, including the window type, size, and frame material. Labor rates, the need for custom sizing, and any required structural modifications will also influence the final price.

It is generally recommended to remove window screens for the winter, especially in climates with heavy snow, freezing rain, or frigid temperatures. Removing them helps prevent damage to the screen mesh and frames that can be caused by ice and moisture buildup between the screen and the window. Taking out the screens also allows more natural light and warmth into your home during shorter winter days and makes it easier to clean your windows thoroughly. In warmer climates where harsh weather is not a concern, the decision is more about personal preference; some homeowners prefer the clearer view, while others leave them in for convenience.

It depends on the insurance company policy, but many companies will offer a discounted rate if you install impact or hurricane windows as they reduce the chance of damage to your home. If you are interested in this perk, make sure to discuss it with your insurance company, as they will likely need your windows to meet certain standards, such as those set by the American Society for Testing and Materials.

Consider energy performance ratings, durability, aesthetics, and ease of maintenance when selecting windows for different environments.

The cost of window replacement is about $290 per window on average, with a typical price range of $180 to $410. However, costs can be as low as $100 or as high as $780 or more. The total price depends on several factors, including the size, type, brand, and number of windows being replaced. The frame material and glass type also significantly impact the cost.

  • Frame Material Costs (per window):

  • Aluminum: $275

  • Vinyl: $550

  • Wood: $800

  • Composite: $900

  • Fiberglass: $1,250

  • Glass Type: Simple double-glazed windows are cheaper ($3 to $6 per sq. ft.) than stronger tempered glass ($12 to $14 per sq. ft.).
