"Because I just had these rods installed a few days ago (and now it's Nov 26, 2021) I haven't had enough time to evaluate the work quality and value - but I have no reason to doubt that both are good. I priced materials for this job, as I originally planned to install themselves, but when I realized that I truly didn't want to get up on the roof of my house (which is quite high) or to get on the roof of my barn (metal, thus slippery) I decided to hire the pros. So that I am very happy with and of course it therefore cost more than it would have if I had done the job myself - but it was safer for me, and also much quicker than I would have been. So, I am glad I called W B."

"Jeffrey came out to my sisters house to fix and replace the flooring in the kitchen and bathroom. He was absolutely fantastic and detail oriented. He created, cut, and stained a new floor transition for our wood floors right out of thin air and has every tool imaginable for remodeling. He’s been out early morning and late night. Just 10/10 fantastic!"

"We had the pleasure of having our electrical work done by Emert’s Electric Co. This is a father/son team, Gary and Greg. They took on the tough job of replacing the old knob and tube wiring in our home. Other electricians who took a look at the project quickly decided they were not up to the challenge.   This was never a question with Emert’s Electric Co. The professionalism they demonstrated gave us confidence throughout the project. Their abilities are impressive. We feel very fortunate to have had Emert’s Electric Co. put in our new electrical system."

Small jobs welcome

"We received a coupon from this company for service to our main drain line.  The men worked very hard and both my husband and myself were very impressed.  They had to approach the line from inside the house to the road AND from the road to the house.  They have very good equipment to perform the clean-out. Of course they wanted us to have additional work done by them..but we didn't think it was necessary.  We would use them again..

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

You can draw your own house plans using three-dimensional modeling software, but in most cases, you’ll need an architect to draw up the final plans. Architects understand local building regulations and requirements, so their plans will be necessary for getting permits approved, and they’ll also ensure your home is structurally sound. DIY house plans can be a good place to start to help visualize your project, but you should always defer to a professional before trying to proceed with the project.

Drawing your own floor plans is acceptable for many kinds of projects, including interior design and room layout. You can use floor plan software to create the plans but keep in mind that the floor plan will only be as accurate as the measurements you take and enter into the software.

Yes, professionals can offer design advice and material selections that complement existing architecture.

Stone, marble, and brick are common building materials of Neoclassical architecture, though you will also find wood flooring and a range of natural stone tiles. Since several home styles fall under Neoclassical architects' umbrella, a range of building materials—including traditional wood framing—will make an appearance.

While it’s never too early to start planning for a major home improvement project like a home addition, give yourself at least a month or two to plan and design your addition, find a contractor, and get the permits in order. For larger projects like a second-story addition that require designing with an architect, plan on three to four months of preparation.
