"Our experience with Ultimate Garage Floors was absolutely flawless. We almost went with a painter but at the last minute, I decided to try and find a company that specialized in garage floors. I spoke with Jeff, the owner, and he gave a great overview of the company. He said about 1/3 of his customers came to him after trying to lay epoxy themselves and it ended up being a complete disaster. Jeff sent a Project Manager to our house to measure our garage and they did the work the next week. My wife said the manager was incredibly professional and came off as competent and knowledgeable. When I came home from work, I was blown away by how good the floor looked. We also had the walls and ceiling painted (by a painting company) and my garage looks incredible. Our floor has a nice shine to it (not too shiny) and it's much softer than the concrete. We take pride in our garage and look forward to enjoying the epoxy floor for many years to come. Do not try to put epoxy down yourself. Contact Ultimate Garage Floors and be prepared to be impressed. From start to finish, these guys are awesome!"

"Highly recommend the company. Sam worked with me through the entire process which included an insurance claim. Very responsive, informative, and helpful. The company prioritized my needs with claims, materials, installation. The installation was professional, beautiful job and again they worked with me to fix last minute details. I will definitely only work with the company for any future flooring products. Extremely happy and satisfied customer!"

"The end result of my garage floor is fantastic. Based on my experience, I'm very glad I didn't do it myself with a kit from the big box stores. For the cost (very reasonable) I think getting a floor epoxied is best left to the pros."

"Daniel and Erika created our beautiful kitchen and master/hall bathrooms. Unfortunately our projects were started at the beginning of the COVID pandemic with all of its supply issues. Our five month project turned out to take over one year. I do not blame them, I blame the pandemic for the delays. My wife and I love, love, love the design of our new kitchen. When the tile for our shower in the master bathroom was stained by the grout due to a tile manufacturing error they worked tirelessly to resolve and replace the stained tile. It’s been three years since the completion of the projects and we’ve not had any problems. Thank you again Daniel and Erika!"

Epoxy Flooring FAQs, answered by experts

You can paint concrete with paint rollers. In fact, using paint rollers is considered one of the easiest ways to evenly apply paint on concrete. A paint roller with a 1/2- to 3/4-inch-thick nap—which is basically a fabric paint roller cover—is best for painting concrete. The thicker the nap, the more paint it can hold to fill those pesky concrete cracks and crevices.

Generally speaking, epoxy is the best garage floor coating. There are two main types of garage floor coating you can consider: epoxy and polyaspartic. Epoxy coating comes at a more affordable price but loses when it comes to durability and long-term use. Polyaspartic coatings cost more and don’t offer as much traction, but they withstand accidents better and don’t tend to fade. Most homeowners choose an epoxy coating.

Outdoor kitchens get wet and are sometimes next to pools. To avoid accidents, go with a non-slip material like concrete, brick, or rubber. Avoid materials like ceramic and porcelain, as they are known to be quite slippery. Wood and composite flooring can be slippery if untreated, so make sure to stain or finish these materials.

Spills like water, oil, or grease can wear down the epoxy's strength, lowering its lifespan. While this damage doesn’t happen immediately, it can accumulate over time, so cleaning up any garage spills as soon as they happen is essential. Avoid cleaning with or using dish soap on your epoxy floors since they will leave an unattractive residue. Instead, you can use half of a cup of ammonia diluted with a gallon of water for cleaning purposes.

Concrete can take years to fully settle, but interior concrete floors are mostly settled after a year. Shifting and settling can occur throughout your home’s life, but most major settling happens the first few years after the concrete is poured. It’s not uncommon for minor cracks to appear in concrete floors over time—check with a concrete pro to ensure new cracks don’t indicate a structural issue in your home.
