"Colosseum Remodeling did exactly what they said they would do and for the price they quoted. We had remodels in our previous homes, but these guys were by far the best. They had great work ethic, they communicated clearly and professionally and they made sure everything was completed to and beyond code. This is the 2nd project they did for us and we will be calling them again."

"We had long-overdue kitchen remodeling project in our list, and when finally we were ready to do it, we contacted five different contractors. All of them had 5/5 rating on different websites with fair amount of feedback count in total, so we interviewed each of them. Among all five of them, Pasha from DIY Kitchens and baths was the one of only two contractors who actually measured every single inch of our existing kitchen. Further, Pasha was the only person who actually noted all details of floor plan we have in our mind, and also gave us feedback and his own idea. Other three contractors were immediately dropped from our list - as I don't want receiving ballpark numbers, and other remaining contractor was also dropped from our list as he wasn't detail oriented as Pasha was. There are couple of things what made DIY Kitchens superior compared to other contractors I worked with in the past 1) Pasha and Tony (project manager) were always reachable. They always reply my calls, texts and emails in timely manner. This was really important to me especially, as I'm busy for my work during daytime, so getting prompt reply was a huge thing to us. 2) Pasha always kept us updated about projected timeline and overall progress. He was always transparent with what was going on with delivery, electric work, inspection, why certain things are delayed, etc. He is extremely organized. Everything is noted, planned at his side, and so is in our contract. 3) Pricing was very fair. His service wasn't cheap but wasn't overpriced either. To us it was very fair pricing, as service we received from him and Diy Kitchens and Baths and final result they delivered to us exceeded our expectation by far. 4) All his workers have top-notch craftsmanship. They were courteous, and most importantly they were on time, always. If Pasha said workers will be in my home by 9:00 AM, they show up at 9:00 AM. No delay, no excuses. All his plumbing, electrical, kitchen cabinet crews and a designer were professionals. 5) Pasha is a good problem solver. We were challenged by couple of underlying hidden problems with our kitchen after demolition, and as our project made progress. He always found some creative way to resolve an issue at very fair cost or at no additional cost. 6) Unlike some other contractors, who will try avoiding responsibility for things that went wrong (could happen in any project obviously, happened here and there previously in my other projects, and some small things went not as planned in this kitchen remodeling as well), Pasha was very accountable and fully responsible for things went not as planned. 7) Most importantly, our remodeled kitchen has beautiful finishes and I am extremely happy with what Pasha and his company did. (see pictures) I would especially like to thank you Tony the project manager that has been with us and make sure we happy with any small detail. The trust he built with us through our kitchen remodeling project gave us enough confidence that he will be a our go-to-contractor for our next remodeling project!"

"Everything seemed fine until the crew arrived. They were late, but the scheduler did call about 45 minutes after the arrival time to let me know. The minute the leader stepped into my house, he began complaining that the job was not as he was told, and then began quizzing me all about the communication I had with the scheduler. I had to tell him the details given to me about the estimate. He then told me that he would have to charge extra to move some of the furniture (not what the scheduler had said). He then demanded that I show him the emails exchanged with the scheduler, as if I had been lying to them. The complaining made me so uncomfortable, that I told him to leave if he didn't feel he could do the job. He said no, that he would do it, but then went outside to call the scheduler himself. We proceeded to move most of the furniture ourselves, just to expedite the process. I then received a call from the scheduler, who hinted that I had mislead her as to how big the rooms were, although I had given her actual square footage specifications. She finally said ok, they would do the job as agreed, but that they had to do some extra space in a hallway, and had to charge an additional fee. At this point, I was stuck, as the crew had already begun working. The bottom line is that the work quality itself was good, but the level of professionalism was poor. Customers should never be pulled into internal disputes, and inadequate job scoping is not the fault of the customer."

"They did not arrive until after 12pm every day. We have young kids and asked that they be gone by 5pm everyday for dinner and bedtime routines. Their showing up at 12pm, meant they had to either work past 5pm, or come back for longer. The job took 5 days. On the second to last day they did not leave our house until almost midnight. They drank our beer in garage (which we didn’t realize until we saw cans sitting all over the place), took multiple smoke and phone breaks and just sat out there for long periods of time. Our house was left a complete mess which required me to spend hours removing glue from the wood floors, door handles, and bathroom sink. They left glue buckets and other trash all over the garage. Debris was everywhere in our home as they did not to prevent this (dust from sawing, etc.). He ended up redoing the first room he did, at our request because they just floated the wood and it was terrible (not their fault). At the time of discussion he said he didn’t want to charge us anymore. We took this to mean there would be no charge. The night before the job ended my husband gave them a check for the agreed upon amount. He then emailed and texted me (the wife) the next day, saying my husband “forgot” to pay him the $250 for pulling up the floor and glueing it. We went back and forth multiple times discussing the fact that he did not “forget” and that Chad has never clearly expressed to us that there would be additional costs for this. Especially considering all the cleanup WE had to do All in all the floors look good. The quarter round on the walls not so much. It’s not fully nailed down in all areas, there are splintered ends, and it just looks like a quick halfass job. We are happy our floors are done, but would not use their service again:"

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

Experts advise that replacing carpeting can bring a 50% to 80% return on investment. However, new carpeting doesn’t necessarily add value to your overall home value. Because flooring value heavily depends on taste, it can be tricky to determine whether new carpet will increase your home sale price. Carpeting tends to be a renovation that increases overall comfort and aesthetics for your home, but it’s not a big factor in value.

Squeaking floors don’t usually pose an immediate safety risk. It can be the result of normal settlement, changes in humidity, or natural wear. Uneven or warped floors do pose a trip risk, so you should call a pro for a repair. This is especially true if you notice visible signs of rot or deterioration. Rarely, a creaking floor can signal structural issues, but there are usually other signs.

Tile—specifically smaller, mosaic-style tiles—is the best type of flooring for building a walk-in shower base. Shower pans come with a threshold and sidewalls to contain the water, but tile can be set into the shower base. This creates a walk-in shower floor that gently slopes toward the drain to keep water from getting out and into the rest of the bathroom.

Concrete flooring, particularly sealed concrete, is the lowest maintenance flooring available. It is affordable, durable, and can last more than 100 years if you seal it and care for it. Far from just being a boring gray, you can stain, stamp, and even paint concrete to match your style and decor. If concrete is not your thing, consider ceramic tile flooring. It is waterproof, stain resistant, and perfect for wet rooms like kitchens and bathrooms. Luxury vinyl tile also requires very little care; it is water and stain resistant, very durable, and affordable.

Yes, marble floors do increase home values. In fact, if you install marble flooring in your home, you can expect to double your investment. Homebuyers love marble, like other types of stone flooring, because it’s timeless, beautiful, wears well, and is considered a luxury product. Marble is expensive to install, but if your house and location attract buyers looking for luxurious, upscale vibes, adding marble flooring can only raise your property value and give you a great return on your investment.
