"Pedro showed up promptly and was very neat and ready to see what our plumbing issue was. Despite this being no ordinary clogged drain he was very professional in finding the underlying causes for it all. This was on a Sunday. He had to come back on Monday to finish restoring our draining and did so promptly. He did all that he could for us. We are currently waiting to hear from some estimators to see about fixing a pipe. I am so glad that we contacted Valley Plumbing with our needs and that they took care of us ."

"Jason did a great, professional job. He fully explained the job and what to do if there was any problems (which there haven't been). The PVC pipe had developed a leak / split near the faucet. He had to cut off the pipe, add a reducing fitment and extension to get the faucet (reused) flush with the side of our double-wide."

"Micah and Austin did an excellent job on a crawlspace encapsulation. Mac who did initial walkthrough was also very helpful in helping to determine the best options and educating me on the process. Would highly suggest Groundworks"

Drain Pipe Installation questions, answered by experts

As a preventative measure, hydro jetting should be done every one to two years. However, the best practice is to hydro jet your sewer line once per year. The ideal frequency depends on several factors, including the age and condition of your pipes, how prone they are to clogging, how often the sewer line is used, and the type of waste disposed of in the system. If you frequently experience clogs or are unsure, it's best to ask a licensed plumber for a recommendation specific to your plumbing system.

Plumbers use a variety of tools to help unclog the toughest of drain clogs, but the most common tools they use are drain snakes and augers. They try a plunger or drain snake to start, then move to heavy-duty augers, and finally try using a hydro jetter to blast away the clog with high-pressure water. Hiring a plumber to unclog a drain costs $125 to $300, largely depending on the extent and location of the clog and which of these methods is best for clearing it.

Yes—your local septic company can clean your septic leach lines with a sewer jetter, a device that pumps high-pressure water through the lines to blast out any clogs and scum buildup. Unless there’s a clog or blockage in the lines, however, you do not need to perform this maintenance regularly. Do not attempt to clean your own leach lines, as you could easily damage them, leading to very costly repairs.

You should inspect and clean your French drain at least once per year to keep it in good working order. Regular maintenance can help identify clogs, buildup, and damage before they become bigger problems, which increases the lifespan of your drain. The frequency with which a drain clogs can depend on factors like the amount of debris, the quality of the installation, and the type of filter used. If your drain accumulates a lot of sediment, it may require more frequent cleaning. It's also a good practice to check the access and exit points after heavy storms. If you notice reduced drainage or any signs of a clog, clean the drain as soon as possible.

Main sewer lines can clog for several reasons. For example, if you regularly dump oil or grease down your drain, it could eventually block your line. Sometimes, tree roots can penetrate and grow inside old sewer pipes, creating a major blockage. Flushing bulky items (like paper towels, diapers, or baby wipes) can also clog your plumbing system.
