"Very professional, best price for the job, had many other quotes and they wanted to overcharge so much and did not listen to me as well as these guys did. End results are amazing, would recommend to anyone wanting updated inside doors or doors repaired."

"If you are at all like us, you tend to fix your fence and find every reason to avoid getting a new one. But once we saw the finished product on our neighbor -- how fast the workers tore down the old one, dug the post holes, put up the new one AND stained it-- our decision was made. Sure, there are many fence companies that can do this; but Stand Strong uses heavy, heavy material --cedar that is 3/4 for the boards, metal-reinforced gates, shadow-box styling (or whatever look you want), and the best pricing out of four fence company bids-- and the decision becomes an easy one. Add to all of this the professionalism and courtesy extended by owner Justin, and you have a superior end result that you would happily recommend to others. You will NOT be disappointed"

Fencing questions, answered by experts

In most cases, wrought iron fencing will cause your property value to increase. Most types of fence—but especially high-quality wrought iron fences—make your home more secure and deter burglars, which adds to property value. Fences can also help keep children and pets safe, which most homebuyers will appreciate. Wrought iron fences are also highly decorative, and while they don’t provide much privacy, they do add to your home’s curb appeal, which often leads to higher home value.

When it comes to materials, wire fences are the cheapest option. The average cost for a 150-foot wire fence is $1,350. The next cheapest material is chain-link, followed by wood.

As far as the style of fence, smaller, less private fences are cheaper than large, elaborate fences that block your whole yard. That’s why split-rail fences are the cheapest option for wooden fences. They cost roughly $10 to $30 per linear foot.

How much does a privacy fence cost? Stockade fences cost $12 to $13 per linear foot for materials. You may find fencing that costs less, but it’s likely wholesale wood manufactured using young trees. Fencing materials made with young trees are less durable than those made with mature trees.

For installation, expect to pay $30 to $80 per hour. Installing a 150- to 200-linear-foot fence takes 20 to 35 hours, which comes to about $600 to $2,800 for labor.

You shouldn’t try to touch the electric fence, as it will shock you. Typically, the shock is low enough to be uncomfortable to humans or animals that come into contact with the fence. But an electric fence with high voltage, or a faulty fence, could shock you and cause serious injuries when touched.

The average cost to install a wrought iron fence is around $3,150, with typical project costs ranging from $470 to $10,500. The final price can vary significantly based on several factors, including the fence's total length and height, design complexity, metal thickness, and your property's topography.

For materials alone, you can expect to pay around $25 to $35 per linear foot. When including installation, the cost is typically between $50 and $70 per linear foot.

Additional factors that can influence the total cost include:

  • Custom designs, decorative flourishes, gates, and columns

  • Labor costs in your area

  • The need for permits

  • Land preparation, such as old fence removal, tree or bush clearing, and land grading

For an accurate estimate, it is best to consult a professional fence installer with the specific measurements and design requirements for your project.
