When he came back, I invited him to walk the property and bid on patching and repainting problem areas of the house and walls. The price sounded quite good: Had he seen all the cracks and loose plaster? But they didnâ t just patch and paint. They completely repainted everything. And depending on the work of the day, it was quite a crew. As many as seven energetic, highly skilled young men who, I discovered, were all members of his family.
