"Tim contacted me within minutes of my search. He was able to schedule me for early the next day. On time! Knew what the repair needed and did an excellent job! I would recommend him for a granite countertop project. I am so thankful I looked into Home Advisor to find a professional to help me."

"I was pleased with the company but the results were not what I was expecting. I had my kitchen cleaned and I expected that the grout would be restored closer to the original color. I cannot see any difference after their deep clean service. It may be the nature of grout. but I did expect a different result."

"This is by far the best general contractor I've ever dealt with! Unfortunately, quailty work at a great price is hard to find these days. Wayman Bro's Construction is not only fairly priced but the owner (Alma) is great to deal with. He was very respectful of my time and always pleasant, his crew is kind, personable and most importantly always did a great job no matter what project I hired them for! I would recommend Wayman Bro's to anyone who is looking for quality work and a good experience!"

"The renovation went very smooth I really have never hired a contractor before this, but I’ve heard horror stories.... so I think I just got super lucky. I was amazed at the speed everything was getting finished. He also kept everything super clean each day and cleaned up extra stuff that wasn’t his, I was really impressed. Everything was in budget as well not only that but after paying my total, at the last minute I wanted to add a digital deadbolt lock. It took a month for me to remember to buy one first of all, when I had it I gave him a call. He seriously came to install it the next day and after asking for an invoice he just said it’s on the house! Jorge is just a really good guy and I will always go to him because he made a seemingly stressful situation super easy for me!!! And his finished work is beautiful."

Marble Restoration questions, answered by experts

Marble is a porous natural stone that needs sealant to minimize staining. Leaving this type of countertop material sealant-free means any liquids left on the surface will quickly absorb into the stone, discoloring it and dulling the sheen. Dark or acidic liquids, like red wine, coffee, and lemon, are the worst culprits.

Due to the acidity, using vinegar to clean quartz countertops can actually damage them. In fact, doing so can cause discoloration and surface damage in the quartz. While it’s possible to clean other countertops, like laminate, tile, and butcher block, with vinegar, it’s best to stay from this cleaning solution if you have quartz in your kitchen or bathroom.

You should always seal cut countertops to prevent damage and to keep them looking their best. The right way to seal countertops depends on the type of material. For laminate and wood, apply epoxy or other specialty sealers by pouring it onto the countertop and letting it flow across the whole surface to the edges, guiding it with a paint stick or putty knife. You will need to move quickly so that it does not dry or harden before you are done. For stone countertops, use a sealant specially manufactured for your type of stone and apply it according to manufacturer directions.

The frequency for sealing marble countertops depends on several factors, including the quality and color of the stone, the type of sealant used, and the amount of traffic the surface receives. Marble has a porous surface that requires sealing to maintain its shine and resist scratches. As a general rule, you should seal countertops at least once a year. However, for heavily used surfaces, like those in a busy kitchen or family bathroom, you may need to reseal them every three to six months. Conversely, countertops in a rarely used guest bathroom might only need resealing every few years.

Yes, you can repair a stone countertop yourself for minor issues like small chips or scratches, and DIY repair kits are available for this purpose. However, for larger problems such as major cracks or significant stains, DIY repairs may not be effective. In these cases, professional services are recommended to ensure a seamless finish, prevent further damage, and use the proper materials and techniques for a full restoration.
