"Bill is exactly what you want in a general contractor. Never did I feel I was being lied to or forgotten about. I hired Bill to build my forever home and he would constantly give me updates on how things were going and rough timelines. Giving me options on different things we can add to the house that I didn't know existed. Worked with me without ever being rude on any design changes that we thought of during construction. Always answered the phone despite something not going exactly to plan and helped alleviate any of the stress that is building a house. I highly recommend Bill, all of the scary things you hear about general contractors swindling and lying isn't Bill Spratt. Thanks Bill!"

"Michael came just two days after my initial call, and showed up on time for a convenient Saturday appointment.  He installed two new switches and two GFCI outlets, he also removed an old cable lock for which I no longer had the key, and he also adjusted my garage door such that the latch would close and added a door seal to close the gap on my front door. I purchased all the materials up front, the $60 was for the total labor which is very reasonable for the amount of time spent.   This is the fourth time I have used Michael and would recommend him to anyone.

"We had a serious issue with rain runoff settling our soil at our foundation. Joe and his crew were incredible!!! He replied immediately and came out the same day to bid. His assessment was spot on, very affordable for all they had to do, and they remedied our issue quickly and even impressed our builder Rep, who said how to fix it. Joe went above and beyond to make it so we’ll never have issues again!!! I can’t recommend Joe enough and honestly, I very rarely do online reviews, but with Joe, I just had to. Yes, he is that good,,,,TRUST ME. ?"

Hello all and thank you for your interest in working with A-Train. I do all sorts of around the house handyman tasks. Some things that I have done in the past are changing/wiring electrical sockets, painting, trimming doors, installing cameras, cleaning gutters, window cleaning, furniture assembly, TV mounting, and so much more. Basically if it’s a household task I’ve probably done it.\n\nI also am a welder and have access to welding and cutting equipment. Most of my welding work has been industrial, but I can do small jobs for people who don’t have access to a welder. Some of these would be fixing metal handrails, fixing gates, hard facing lawn mower blades, tool repair, and other one person welding jobs.\n\nMy goal is to serve the customer in a professional and quick time frame, for a reasonable cost. I will give free estimates, and have senior and military discounts.\n\nIf there is something you need done around the house or other please send me a message and I will respond as quickly as possible. I am based in Ogden and serve everywhere from Salt Lake City to the south, to Logan in the north. If I can help you I look forward to hearing from you!\n\nSincerely,\nAusten Germain

"Excellent. Jed pruned an old apple tree so that it’s at the right height for me to pick. Carefully taking away branches to balance out the structure of the tree. He then dorayed it with a natural pest repellent. My tree is flourishing with fruit. Which makes me happy."

Pole Barn Builders questions, answered by experts

Building a tiny house is the least complicated way to build, especially if you’re tackling the project as a DIY. The smaller size means less complex plans, more straightforward utility installation, and fewer ways to make costly errors. Tiny homes still need to conform to building codes and often have other applicable regulations, so be sure to get the proper permits and confirm your build is by the book.

Building a treehouse can vary in difficulty depending on factors such as design complexity, size, and the builder’s woodworking experience. Basic treehouses with simple designs can be manageable for DIYers with some carpentry skills, while more elaborate structures may pose challenges. Adequate planning, research, and careful execution can make the process more manageable, and resources like premade plans or professional assistance are always available for additional support.

You may need a local building permit and written permission from your homeowner’s association to install a shed, especially if you’re doing any substantial land clearing or installing electricity or plumbing. Permit requirements vary between municipalities, so research the local laws before starting your project. If you hire a contractor to build the shed, they can help determine which permits will be necessary.

The timeline to build your barn will depend on the barn type and the company you hire. A pole barn may take six weeks or so, while a traditionally framed or steel-framed barn can take four months or longer. Building a barndominium takes the longest because you are essentially building a new home. You can expect barndominiums to take six months or longer to build.

Whether a prefab home is worth it or not will depend on your personal needs and preferences. Overall, prefab homes tend to cost less than traditional homes, although they also tend to have lower resale values. Another thing to consider is that prefab homes usually last 50 to 60 years or longer, while traditional homes last 50 to 100 years or more.
