"We called Bath Fitters of Utah after getting quotes from several other places. The price was 40% less than the others, and the materials are excellent. John and Brayden showed up on time notwithstanding a big snow fall, then worked steady all day to remove our old tub, install the new tub and shower, clean up and leave everything perfect. They were great to work with, and we will absolutely recommend them to friends and family. John and Nancy, Millcreek"

"Initial contact:  great--had lots of sample to choose from, very professional and answered all initial questions.
Responsiveness: There are very busy so it took several weeks from purchase date  to get the install appointment.  However, they did the job as scheduled and as promised
Workers:  Clean and courteous. Very professional.  Did the job in one day as promised. See "Other" below
Product:  Love the product. Was as good or better than the samples.  has a great look and feel to it.
Price: Was very competitive and for us a much better deal than going with a complete retile job.
Other:  Initially the installed product didn't not have the oil rubbed bronze drain to match the other trim, it was standard chrome and did not match.  Not a big deal--they ordered it and it came in and was installed within 1-2 weeks later.  Also the water doesn't completely drain right away in the center of the shower like there is a low spot.  It does drain well when taking a shower, but a small puddle is left after the shower that eventually drains away.  I asked about it and was told by the installer that it would get better with time and as more showers were taken.  It has gotten better but not completely resolved, so I plan to have them back out to advise.  I have complete confidence they will take care of it, but I will follow up here if they do not.

"RSI is a great replumb company. The actual replumbing was outstanding and we opted for the upgraded pro-plex fittings to increase our warranty from 10 to 25 years (not an up sell by Jamey - our choice). They also put in-place a dedicated recirculation line for our tankless water heater. The RSI team (Kenny and Milo) was expert at locating and replacing the old polybutylene piping with minimal impact to sheetrock, tiles, and fittings. They finished the work early but were delayed in finalizing the project due to a delay from the Regional Building Inspectors, not RSI's fault. Our only suggestions are 1) better daily clean-up, 2) better attention to detail repainting sheetrock (we had to repeatedly point out areas for a 'redo' and adjacent areas for touch-up) - this seemed harder to do that we expected (this is why we gave them a B rather than an A for quality). Jamey was very responsive to us and answered our questions/concerns thoroughly and promptly. We will recommend RSI our neighbors and friends.

Drain Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Biodegradable drain cleaners use naturally derived ingredients, such as baking soda, vinegar, and boiling water, which bacteria and other microbes can break down. Unlike conventional cleaners that rely on corrosive bleach (sodium hydroxide), biodegradable options are gentler on fixtures and less harmful to the environment. Because they don't release harmful gasses, they are also safer to use, especially in households with children, and do not require the same safety precautions as bleach-based products.

Yes, continuing to flush a clogged toilet is not likely to break up the clog. Instead, it will continue to put pressure on the clog while filling the bowl with more water, which can potentially cause the toilet to overflow—leading to an even bigger mess. Rather than repeatedly flushing, use a toilet plunger or plumber’s snake to dislodge the clog.

That pungent rotten egg smell coming from your drain is likely the buildup of biofilm—hair, skin, and soap scum that turns into a black sticky mess. In this case, pouring down near-boiling water, baking soda, and white vinegar will remove the smell. Keep in mind that a rotten egg smell is occasionally a sign of larger sewage line clogs and other related issues.

Ever wonder what might cause your outdoor spigot to lose water flow? It's not as complicated as one might think. Something as simple as a clogged or leaky pipe could be the culprit. Some other causes are corrosion of the pipes or lack of water pressure coming from your street.

The cost to unclog a drain varies based on the location and severity of the clog. For simple clogs within your home, such as in a sink, toilet, or shower, hiring a plumber typically costs between $110 and $350, with an average of around $200. Snaking a toilet or sink usually costs between $110 and $275, while a bathtub or shower clog costs about $225.

For a more serious clog in the main sewer line, the cost is higher. Clearing a main line clog generally costs between $200 and $600, with an average of about $380. However, prices can range from as low as $100 for snaking a minor clog to over $1,600, particularly if advanced methods like video inspection and hydrojetting are needed for a large or hard-to-reach blockage. Some severe main line clogs can cost upwards of $1,000 to clear depending on factors like the cause of the clog, its distance from an accessible cleanout, and whether the pipe is located beneath an occupied space (e.g., in an apartment building). You may be able to save money on minor clogs by using a drain snake or bladder yourself.
