"Landmark Uses Disreputable Contractors ? AZA Repair & Brenovations HVAC Are the Worst Landmark sent AZA Repair for my refrigerator, and they left it worse than before?still not working, scorch marks from a blowtorch, copper lines sticking out, tools and oil left behind, and no receipt. Then Landmark sent Brenovations HVAC for an AC motor replacement, and that turned into exposed wires, bolts hitting fan blades, missing parts, and complete disregard for safety near my kids? play area. Both companies were unprofessional, negligent, and refused accountability. Landmark?s use of these contractors makes me seriously question the value of having a home warranty at all."

"I am kind of surprised to see a lot of people praising the customer service and pricing. Both the guy I talked to on the phone and the guy I met in person (assuming they were different) weren't particularly kind. I may be naive because this is the first time I have ever had to pay for a car lockout but $125 for a old 2007 Grand Cherokee that took the guy not even 2 minutes to unlock when he only had to drive 15-20 minutes seems excessive."

Lubricating a door lock is an important part of door lock maintenance. It involves taking the lubricant of your choice (it’s best to use whatever the lock’s manufacturer suggests) and spraying it directly into the keyway. Push and pull your key in and out of the lock to make sure it’s all the way in.

Door locks should be changed roughly every seven years. The average lifespan of a door lock is seven to 10 years, so it’s best to err on the side of caution and change them early, especially if they are showing signs of wear and tear. Examples of deterioration include visible rust and difficulty opening or closing the door. Some locks can work safely beyond 10 years, but it depends on how often they are used and whether they are exposed to damaging environmental conditions like precipitation or extreme temperatures.

It’s best to avoid using oil-based lubricants within a lock because they attract larger amounts of dust and debris. When this occurs, it can make it harder for you to operate the lock, or it can even cause damage to the internal locking mechanism. A dry lubricant is the ideal solution instead.

Most door knobs can be removed with a Phillips or flathead screwdriver. If you don’t have either of those available, a paper clip or small pin can sometimes work, but the extra effort may not be worth a quick trip to the hardware store.
