"Jay Concrete & Construction did an excellent job on my new driveway. They not only performed a very valuable service, but they were also very careful to clean up after the job was done. They take pride in the work they do, and their reputation is evidenced by my many neighbors who have also used their service"

"I paid them full in advance as I trusted them but they did not come back to finish the work which was done incorrectly. They told me to find another contractor and never heard from them again. My mistake is that I paid them in advance over $10,000."

"We contacted Del Cutting Edge through Angie's list to set up a preliminary quote. We liked the quote and so we had them paint 1
bedroom to view and experience the quality. It was EXCEPTIONAL!!!!
We have them painting 2 more bedrooms and hope to start on our kitchen and bathrooms in the very near future. The prices are great, but the QUALITY is unmatched. They do a great job, and I highly recommend them to anyone wanting to paint their home.

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

The best time to paint your deck is when temperatures are neither too cold (below 60 degrees) nor too hot (above 85 degrees). Always paint your deck when there’s no risk of rain. For fast-drying paint like acrylic or latex, ensure your deck can dry for at least four hours. Oil-based paints take longer to dry and may require 48 hours to completely cure.

In most cases, sanding an old deck before staining it is necessary to achieve a decent finish. If your old deck has a relatively new stain finish on it and you're only doing touch-ups, you can generally skip the sanding part. However, if your goal is to make the deck look and function better, sanding first is a must.

Most building codes require that railing spindles (also known as balusters) on decks or stairs be spaced no more than four inches apart. This safety standard is often called the '4-inch sphere rule,' which means a sphere with a 4-inch diameter should not be able to pass through the opening between balusters. This rule is in place to prevent small children and pets from slipping through the railing. For the same reason, the space between the bottom rail and the deck or floor surface should also be no more than four inches. As a general guideline, professionals often install three balusters per foot of railing. However, since specific requirements can vary by location, it is essential to check your local building codes to ensure compliance before starting your project.

For a 12x20-foot (240-square-foot) deck, you can expect to pay between $7,200 and $14,400. This cost is based on a general price of $30 to $60 per square foot. The final price will depend on factors such as the decking material, design complexity, deck type, location, and local labor costs. Keep in mind that add-ons will increase the total; for example, adding an under-deck drainage system to a deck of this size could cost an additional $7,700.

Deck repairs cost around $800 to $3,500 . However, your cost depends on the type and severity of the repair, as well as the type of decking material you have. Other factors, like location and labor costs, impact the price, too. Boards and railings are the priciest parts of a deck to repair, while loose stairs are less expensive to fix.
