Customers say: True professional

"Absolutely incredible! They fingered new red oak planks to extend my current floors for a project, then sanded and refinished the room. They did an outstanding job, and amazing for the price. I HIGHLY recommend."

Emergency services offered

"Guillermo and his crew of 3 (including his daughter) were very responsive, letting me know when they were coming and when they left for the day. He was slightly more expensive than other bids I received, but I hired him because he seemed the most professional. He was very careful to avoid messes and and even was able, with power washing to get those unsightly and impossible-to-remove ivy roots off a brick wall prior to painting it."

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

Steam mops can be a better option than traditional mops because the steam can lift stubborn dirt from floors without using chemicals, and it also kills bacteria and dust mites. However, steam mops have drawbacks: they are more expensive, require an electrical outlet, and are not suitable for all flooring types, such as laminate or hardwood, which can be damaged by the steam.

Regular mopping can also sanitize floors effectively when done with the right cleaning products and techniques, though it may require more effort. The main advantage of a traditional mop is its versatility, as it can be used on any type of flooring. Ultimately, the best choice depends on your floor type, budget, and cleaning preferences.

Impervious or vitreous tile and vinyl flooring work best for the kitchen. These surfaces are non-porous (or have a very low porosity) that can stand up against spills, splashes, and plumbing leaks. Some natural stones are also a good fit, but keep porosity in mind. You may need to seal them to avoid stains and water damage to the subfloor.

You may be wondering, how long does carpet last? It depends on the type. For your Berber carpet, it should last 10 to 15 years with regular cleaning and maintenance. For the longest lifespan possible, you should call in a carpet cleaner for a deep cleaning at least once a year.

Also, you can opt for higher-quality Berber carpet and underlayment which will last longer. And if you have pets, make sure to house-train them and use extra rugs in areas you expect high foot traffic.

For rooms with an even number of feet (10 x 12, for example), you can technically just multiply them together to get the number of square feet in the room (10 feet x 12 feet = 120 sq. ft.). For irregularly shaped rooms or areas that aren’t even square feet, converting to inches will be your best bet for an accurate measurement.

Decent carpet will last around 10 years on stairs. Some less durable carpets, like polyester, will only last five years on stairs. The ideal carpet, like wool or nylon, can last about 15 to 25 years. You’ll know when to replace it when it starts wearing down. You may have to replace it sooner if it's stained, whether due to water damage or pets.
