"The crew did an amazing job on my counter tops! I chose to have the backsplash go continuously granite. They picked the right slabs of granite for both, and the look is amazing! I would recommend them again."

"Alex was an amazing installer and has a keen eye for detail. He arrived on time, communicated well, was polite and did an amazing job. He is a perfectionist (which I loved!!!) and took the time to do the job right and not just quickly. He takes pride in his work. He noticed imperfections in my subfloor and used a concrete leveler to fix low spots and a sander to hit the high spots before installing because he knows that can affect the way the floors wear over time. He even noticed a squeak in my floor and fixed that too. Floors are gorgeous! Thresholds look great! Alex arrived early each morning, worked hard everyday, gave me an update before he left everyday and tidied up. Seriously, a dream contractor! We haven't reinstalled baseboards yet, but these are my beautiful floors."

"They installed a new quartz countertop and twin sinks into our shop locker room. The work is beautiful and makes everything else look bad in comparison. More than happy with the workmanship as well as the price. Would absolutely use them again."

Marble and Granite questions, answered by experts

Deciding between marble and granite for kitchen countertops depends on your personal priorities, budget, and style. Both materials have similar costs for material and installation.

Marble offers a luxurious aesthetic and timeless beauty, but it is more expensive and requires more maintenance. It is susceptible to staining and etching from acidic substances like coffee, wine, or tomato sauce if spills are not cleaned up quickly.

Granite is highly durable, heat-resistant, and easier to maintain, making it a practical choice for busy kitchens.

Both materials should be sealed to protect against damage, but they can still be vulnerable to stains if spills are left on the surface for too long.

You can’t change the color of the stone, but you can update granite countertops without replacing them by painting them. Because granite is a porous material, you’ll want to seal them first before painting them so that the paint doesn’t hurt the surface. This is important because you don’t want to devalue your counters by damaging the original surface; even if you don’t like the color now, you or a new homeowner may want to remove the paint someday and return them to their original color. You can also cover them with

One of the primary benefits of a soapstone countertop is that the material is heat-resistant. You can put a hot pan on soapstone, and it won’t scorch or crack. Despite being able to handle extreme heat, soapstone is much softer than granite, quartz and similar materials. This means that it scratches easily, so you should not prepare food directly on the surface.

Sintered stone and quartz are both low-maintenance materials resistant to water damage and scratching. However, quartz can be damaged by temperatures over 150°F, while sintered stone is heat-resistant up to 300°F. Both materials are comparable in cost, so ultimately, the decision will hinge on your preferences.

The frequency for sealing marble countertops depends on several factors, including the quality and color of the stone, the type of sealant used, and the amount of traffic the surface receives. Marble has a porous surface that requires sealing to maintain its shine and resist scratches. As a general rule, you should seal countertops at least once a year. However, for heavily used surfaces, like those in a busy kitchen or family bathroom, you may need to reseal them every three to six months. Conversely, countertops in a rarely used guest bathroom might only need resealing every few years.
