General Contractor John Rohbock, has been building and reconstructing for well over 20 years in the Utah and surrounding areas. Born and reared in Southern Utah, John and his crew are used to laboring in the very harsh elements that Southern Utah provides. While they have completed projects all over the state, current they focus their attention to the Northern Utah area but continue to complete jobs all over the state.\n\n

"We hired this team in late fall for major landscaping work and have been extremely impressed. The top priority was repairing a 50-foot retaining wall to ensure it was structurally sound... and they delivered! They also rewired our sprinkler system, xeriscaped a portion of our front yard, planted a new tree, extended our driveway, and repaired backyard concrete steps. Fast turnaround and excellent quality throughout. Huge thanks to David O Callaghan (project manager) for clear communication and strong guidance. Greg (manager) was great to work with, and Luis (team lead) is an outstanding hands-on leader. The whole crew took pride in their work, reused materials when possible, and used high-quality materials for the new areas. Their communication, guidance, and commitment to a spring follow-up to ensure wall integrity and sprinkler performance make it 5/5. We will update after the spring visit, and we confidently recommend them to anyone!"

"Super smooth process. General quote took about 20 minutes and a week later we had our custom screens and sliding door installed. I don’t remember the time frame that they quoted for it to be done, but they did it much quicker than I expected. Excellent work!"

Outdoor Kitchens questions, answered by experts

Older research tells us that adding an outdoor pizza oven is unlikely to increase ROI. But thanks to an uptick in interest in this feature, it’s becoming increasingly likely that installing one will boost your home’s value by a small amount.

Built-in gas grills typically have a life span of 10 to 15 years. However, their longevity can vary based on quality, usage frequency, climate conditions, and maintenance routines. High-quality models made from durable materials tend to last longer. Additionally, regular cleaning, covering the grill when not in use, and conducting routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning burners and replacing worn-out parts can extend its life. A well-maintained built-in gas grill can provide excellent performance and memorable cooking experiences for a decade or more, making it a worthwhile investment for outdoor cooking enthusiasts.

The best types of wood for outdoor kitchen cabinets are those naturally resistant to weather, water, heat, fading, and mold or mildew. Excellent choices include teak, mahogany, white oak, and Brazilian walnut. It's best to avoid softwoods like pine and cedar, as they are more susceptible to damage and can catch fire easily. For extra protection, ensure the wood is pressure-treated. Regardless of the wood you choose, you will need to apply sealants, oils, and stains regularly to protect your cabinets from the elements.

The cost to build an outdoor kitchen averages around $15,500, but prices can range widely from $5,000 to over $52,000 depending on the project's complexity and features. Many projects fall within the $5,000 to $30,000 range. Since outdoor kitchens are highly customizable, several key factors influence the total cost, including the size and layout of the area, the quality of materials for countertops and cabinets, the number and type of appliances, the need for site preparation like land leveling or a foundation, and whether new utility lines are required.

Use fire bricks for a brick pizza oven. These bricks are typically used for fireplaces and chimneys as they can withstand high temperatures from heat sources. If you attempt to use any other kind of bricks, it’s likely that this material will crack from such high heat exposure in the best case—and potentially explode and cause serious harm in the worst case.
