"emco arrrived at my home at the exact time they said they would. workers wore boot covers to protect my floor coverings. they completely explained what they would be doing and showed me the defective part. workers were uniformed, clean cut and very professional . i would definitely recommend this company.

The International Building Code (IBC) requires cricket installation if a chimney built after 2012 measures over 30 inches in width. Chimneys constructed before that date are typically grandfathered in and aren’t required to have crickets installed.

While a hot fire can help heat up and loosen tar within your chimney, making it a recommended step before using a creosote log, it will not burn off significant existing buildup on its own.
