"The crew was great to work with explaining what the process was going to be and what was expected of us as homeowners. They were respectful and came and went when doing the job. We had them do our entry and hall and kitchen and we had a border on the outside of our front room that did NOT need to be done but they matched the merger with the new refurbished floor PERFECTLY. I will definitely recommend this company and pricing was great."

"It was great! The owner met us at our house and had a van full of flooring samples, literally thousands of them. We had the new flooring installed the week of Thanksgiving. The installers were fast, professional and very clean. They got the job done as promised and we are very pleased. We recommend these folks to everyone who is considering new flooring"

"I had some water damage in the kitchen floor that needed replacement. Deswood and his team did a great job at replacing the damaged hardwood floor. They sanded and finished to match the color already there. Highly recommend!"

"I had a deep dark spot on my wood floor from an event over the holidays while I was away. Matt came to the rescue and was able to swap out the bad panels in the floor and refinish the whole room in a single day. My floor has never looked better! I will be requesting their services again for all my flooring projects"

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

Most DIYers can learn how to remove carpet although it’s time and labor-intensive. However, if you have glued-down carpet and are concerned about damaging the substrate below, it's best to call a professional carpet remover. Also, removing glue-down carpet is more work than dealing with wall-to-wall carpet because you have to get rid of all traces of the adhesive from your subfloor to prepare it for a new installation.

It depends on the kind you choose, but some types of carpet padding can last for decades. For instance, flat rubber—which is dense, durable, and higher-priced than other padding materials—has a life span of up to 20 years. On the other hand, prime foam—a lower-priced material that often comes free with a carpet installation—lasts less than five years on average.

No, replacing flooring is considered a renovation. You're updating an existing feature without changing the layout or structure of the space. However, it can be a remodel if extensive work is needed to update the subflooring.

The cost of new flooring materials depends on the type of flooring, its quality, installation method, and additional features. While some options, like solid hardwood flooring, may be more expensive than carpet initially, others, such as vinyl and laminate, offer more budget-friendly alternatives. Ultimately, the overall expense can be influenced by factors like longevity, maintenance requirements, and desired aesthetic, making it essential to consider the long-term value of each material.

Your room doesn’t need to be completely empty to restretch a carpet, but you’ll need enough space that you can move around furniture to access the wrinkled areas and the wall where you’re reattaching the carpet. A contractor will move your furniture out of the way before they start the job, but you can save money by moving your furniture before they arrive.
