"The crew was great to work with explaining what the process was going to be and what was expected of us as homeowners. They were respectful and came and went when doing the job. We had them do our entry and hall and kitchen and we had a border on the outside of our front room that did NOT need to be done but they matched the merger with the new refurbished floor PERFECTLY. I will definitely recommend this company and pricing was great."

"It was great! The owner met us at our house and had a van full of flooring samples, literally thousands of them. We had the new flooring installed the week of Thanksgiving. The installers were fast, professional and very clean. They got the job done as promised and we are very pleased. We recommend these folks to everyone who is considering new flooring"

"I had some water damage in the kitchen floor that needed replacement. Deswood and his team did a great job at replacing the damaged hardwood floor. They sanded and finished to match the color already there. Highly recommend!"

"I had a deep dark spot on my wood floor from an event over the holidays while I was away. Matt came to the rescue and was able to swap out the bad panels in the floor and refinish the whole room in a single day. My floor has never looked better! I will be requesting their services again for all my flooring projects"

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

The first step in budgeting for carpet is to determine the amount of carpet you need and the type of carpet you want. You might be tempted to opt for the least expensive option if you have a limited budget, but a low-quality carpet won’t last as long as a high-quality one. When accounting for future carpet repair costs, it makes sense to buy the best-quality carpet you can afford.

It depends on the kind you choose, but some types of carpet padding can last for decades. For instance, flat rubber—which is dense, durable, and higher-priced than other padding materials—has a life span of up to 20 years. On the other hand, prime foam—a lower-priced material that often comes free with a carpet installation—lasts less than five years on average.

If you’re using a carpet runner instead of a traditional carpet, pay attention to your width measurements. Instead of measuring the total width of your staircase with 2 added inches for foldover, simply measure the width you’d like the runner to cover. Runners generally come in standard sizes, so you may need to approximate what would look best in your space.

No, replacing flooring is considered a renovation. You're updating an existing feature without changing the layout or structure of the space. However, it can be a remodel if extensive work is needed to update the subflooring.

No, when done correctly, removing the tile shouldn’t damage the subfloor. However, if there was pre-existing damage to the subfloor from standard use or lack of maintenance, the subfloor may need repairs. For example, if the contractors notice mold growth on the subfloor or an uneven surface, you may need more extensive services before installing new tile.

If you DIY tile removal, remove the tiles one step at a time, individually removing the tile, grout, and mortar to prevent unnecessarily damaging the subfloor. Depending on the age of your home, consider having a professional inspect the subfloor to ensure it’s in good enough condition to lay new tile.
