"They were the first to provide a bid. The bid was competitive. You do not need to pay anything until the whole work is complete. Timely updates about each step were provided. Excellent process from bid to finish."

Small jobs welcome

"Ian was great at replacing a single gate in my over 25 year old chain link fence with a double gate. He was able to use the existing chain link, saving me money. He was professional in both his attitude and ability to complete the job in a timely manner. He was able to complete a job that other companies stated would cost twice as much and not even clear away the old gate. Ian cleared away the old parts of the fence and left the yard looking better than when he arrived. He even gave me information on other ways to have other repairs done on my porch and back deck. I highly recommend Ian."

"Such a wonderful job! I contacted Angie’s on August 22nd to find a contractor to do my fence and retaining wall project. On the morning of September 7th, Joe was at my house beginning the retaining wall. On Monday, September 13th the project was completed!. Best Fence and Gate Installation by Joe exceeded my expectations. The project turned out just beautifully. He was not the least expensive bid I received, but I felt that he was the most qualified to do the job. It was worth paying more to get such a professional job. I would definitely hire this company to complete future projects."

Wrought Iron questions, answered by experts

The average cost to install a fence is between $1,800 and $4,500. However, the price can vary significantly based on several factors. For a small DIY project, costs could be as low as $450, while fencing a large property like a 5-acre yard can exceed $43,000. Key factors that influence the total cost include the fence's size and height, the material used, the complexity of the design, site preparation needs, and any additional features like gates. The cost of raw materials, manufacturing, and custom fabrication can also impact the final price.

You don't need gravel under metal fence posts, but it's always a good idea to add it in. Adding about six inches of gravel before you pour concrete will provide better water drainage, which can help to prolong the lifespan of your new fence and maximize its stability.

No, fence posts aren’t always set in concrete. If you don’t want to use concrete footings for your posts, expanding foam is a popular alternative. Expanding foam and concrete each have certain pros and cons. For instance, foam is easier to install and more sustainable, but concrete is sturdier and less expensive.

Pickets should sit at least 2 inches off the ground to encourage groundwater to flow underneath. Pickets can sit as much as 6 inches off the ground, but setting it any higher could let pets in or out of your yard unintentionally. These are not to be confused with the fence posts anchored underground with soil or concrete footing.

Yes, installing wrought iron fencing will usually require a building permit, as do all types of fencing. Building permits for wrought iron fencing typically cost between $150 and $500, and the price will vary based on where you live and how much your local building department charges. You may also need to pay for a property survey if you’re installing wrought iron fencing on your property line. This type of survey can cost around $500, but it prevents issues with building on neighboring properties, which can be much more expensive in the long run.
