"

Dave is very knowledgeable about his product and gave a great presentation of the possibilities of the shelving in the kitchen area.   He listened attentively to my questions and offered clear examples of options that would make a difference in the ease of use of my upper and lower cabinets.

I selected a cabinet and within minutes he had the measurements and was able to tell me what he suggested for the chosen cabinet area.  Dave must have been an efficiency expert at one time because now that the work is done I am so glad I made the purchase because of the difference it has made in the ease of kitchen use.

Within a few weeks my custom shelving was ready and he told me the installation would take about an hour.  Once again, he was right on the button with his estimate.  I am extremely pleased with my ShelfGenie cabinet  - it's as efficient as Dave!

"A&G designed, built, and installed a large entertainment cabinet for installation in a media room. Their design was appropriate for the space and they spent extra time with my wife and me to insure cabinet dimensions and design details met our requirements. Their proposal was competitive versus three bids obtained and they met their commitments for fabrication time, delivery (~3 weeks), and cost. Wanted to note that during fabrication, Rubin communicated frequently by providing status updates (including pictures), asking questions (when clarifications were required), and providing drawings when I needed to show electrical and painting contractors the cabinet dimensions and placement. During the installation, A&G did not damage my home and upon completion, did a good job cleaning up any trash and debris. All in all, was very pleased with the quality of work and my interactions with this company. Would gladly work with them again and highly recommend them to others."

Cabinet Making questions, answered by experts

Frameless cabinets fit the space-saving, minimalist attributes of European-style kitchens more than face frame models. That also makes them a good pick for apartments and dorms, as well as any more modern-style kitchen.

Typically, a medicine cabinet should be installed about 60 to 72 inches above the floor. This height ensures that it's easily accessible for most individuals while allowing for proper visibility and convenience. However, the ideal height may vary based on individual preferences and the average eye level of the users in your household.

While having an assistant to help ensure safety and to lend a hand is desirable, if someone isn't around to assist, you can install kitchen cabinets on your own. Normal kitchen cabinet installation starts with the upper wall cabinets. If you're working on your own, consider installing the bases first and building a temporary support structure on top of them to help you install the uppers.

Options include stock, semi-custom, and custom cabinets, each offering varying levels of personalization and cost.

It is generally more cost-effective to purchase stock or semi-custom cabinets than to have them custom-built. The best option depends on your budget and customization needs.

Here is a breakdown of the average costs per linear foot:

  • Custom Cabinets: $500 to $1,200. The final price is influenced by factors like materials, size, and design complexity. For example, a basic slab cabinet door might cost $60 to $70 for materials, while a more intricate mullioned glass inset panel door can range from $100 to $200 per door.

  • Semi-Custom Cabinets: $150 to $700.

  • Stock Cabinets: $100 to $400. These are pre-built and the most affordable option, but they offer limited customization and may not be suitable for rooms with unusual shapes or high ceilings.
