"I was very pleased with the overall experience of having these guys do some work for me! The owner, Chaston Horelka, was the first to call me within an hour after I showed interest for a landscaper online. Very pleasant and knowledgeable and he and his workers did everything I asked to have done - weed and clean up multiple flower beds (badly needed!), cut out a small tree, weed, put black paper and mulch down in rosebed, dug holes and planted a couple of plants still in pots, etc. Sure wish I had before pictures to show the comparison when these guys finished making everything look fabulous! The clean up was more than I expected. Hauled off all the debris, edges along flowerbeds nice and clean, sidewalk and patio hosed off (no extra dirt) and they even cleaned and filled up my bird bath! I would highly recommend Gulf Coast Landscaping for anyone in need of their services. Reasonably priced, efficient and excellent attention to detail! Wonderful experience!"

Excavating questions, answered by experts

Yes, an excavation company is the best option for land grading and yard leveling. General landscapers might be able to tackle these projects, but an excavation company will do a better job because they’re used to operating the necessary heavy machinery. Landscapers might opt to do the work manually, which takes much longer and could cost you more in labor fees. Finally, excavation companies will understand local regulations and know when you need permits to legalize the work, while a landscaper might not.

Generally, a trenchless sewer line is worth the cost. If your old system needs replacement, trenchless sewer repair or replacement can save you thousands on excavation costs. Every homeowner’s situation is different, but this method is definitely worth it in a lot of cases.

Because decomposed granite is a durable material, a crushed rock or gravel base is optional as long as the DG is properly installed and compacted. However, installing a base is a good idea because it will ensure proper drainage and stability and act as a weed suppressant (although you may still occasionally have to pull weeds). Installing an adequate base can also increase the durability of driveways and walkways. If you forego the paver base or gravel underneath, line the area with landscaping fabric to avoid weeds.

Almost any kind of home can have a wine cellar or cabinet installed. You’ll need an area where a concrete floor can be put in, along with the necessary insulation, climate control, and ventilation systems. If you think of yourself as an aspiring sommelier, an underground wine cellar may be ideal, but it will cost significantly more.

What you choose to install really depends on your budget and how many bottles you’re looking to store.

Completion time ranges from days to weeks, contingent on project size, environmental conditions, and regulatory approvals.
