"I really wanted to provide a good review to these guys if only for the repeated effort they put in trying to get it right. Once the owner started to blame me and my house for the struggles they had, I decided I needed to write an honest review. So I have a house that was built around 2000 and it has rolled on texture and stamped ceiling texture that is applied using spackling compound. This is very common in this area and prior painters have had no problem matching it. In this case the crew admitted to me they were not professional painters, they did not to keep the area neat (drips on carpet, stain on pool cool deck (photo), stain on garage wall (photo), muddy boot prints on stair carpeting (see photo), etc,), they could not create a straight line in corners where two paint colors merge (see white/blue paint photo), and did not know how to texture. The wall texture had to be done over three times - that is literal. I showed them how to do it. They eventually got that fairly well figured out. The ceiling was another story - the area that had a sheet rock repair was retextured 5 times over three visits (see white ceiling / gray wall paint photos). At first it was totally terrible and I had to tell them what ceiling texture stamping tool to buy from Home Depot (pretty much the main one they sell). One painter told me he watched utube to try and figure out how to use that tool but did not have any experience with texture. He was not satisfied with his own work, to his credit. Finally the owner came and redid it. I was dismayed to find how rough it looks. I have hired someone to re do it. I can not recommend this company. If you do hire them, don't pay up front like I did."

"Jose and his team are exceptional. We hired him for 3 small projects (installing a screen door, installing a barn door in the nursery and replacing water damaged ceiling and adding beams). The quality and thoughtfulness of the work far exceeded our expectations. How can you exceed expectations installing a screen door, you ask? He noticed we had cats and made sure to order an upgraded pet-safe door. All materials were included in his estimate and he consistently ordered extremely high quality materials and finishes. He was always exactly punctual and communication was very clear. We would trust Jose with every aspect of our house and immediately requested estimates for additional work after he finished this project. The title "Handyman" doesn't do Jose justice - he's a craftsman."

". First called Oscar to cut door frame on back door to check door studs for rot prior to having new door/frame installed. Oscar showed up on time and was courtious and professional.

After he finished the job he noticed that caulking was miissing aroun many place on floor molding and that they needed painting. We agreed to the price that included him supplying paint. Again he was on time, neat with painting and he did a good job on clean up after his work.

When I asked him about changing the balast for 2 kitchen flouescent lighting units he declined as he wasn't licsend.
As we were looking at the unit he spotted a smal wet spot in the ceiling near one of the units. He went up into the hott attic and found the leak which he repaired the next day. I was impressed with the job he did by replacing insulation and a heat barrier.

I certainly will use him again in the future. I was really glad to find someone in my community as I like to keep as much as my business locally."

"It took a few trips due to limited supplies but he completed the roof repair quickly and matched the ceiling texture and color to perfection. If I did not know where to look for the repair, it would be undetectable. I know that the work he did is correct and will cause me no problems going forward. He is pleasant, courteous, communicates easily and knows exactly what he is doing. It is a real pleasure working with him."

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

The number of blades for your fan poses both advantages and disadvantages. Typically, the more blades on a fan, the better the air distribution and cooling effect, but this also means that your fan will have more wear on its motor. For small rooms, three-blade fans should work fine. For larger areas like living rooms, four or five-blade fans might be the better option.

No, a ceiling fan doesn’t have to be wired to a switch, but it’s often more convenient. You can use the included pull chain if your ceiling isn’t too high or install a remote module later, as they are a cheap, easy-to-install option that’ll let you control both the fan and light fixture.

Ceiling fans require periodic cleaning of blades to avoid dust accumulation, checking screws and connections for firmness, and occasional lubrication for components, keeping the fan running smoothly and quietly over time.

In short, no. You can use the square footage range chart in this article to determine the right size ceiling fan for both indoor and outdoor spaces. However, weather elements can damage types of ceiling fans that aren't designed for outdoor use, so your ceiling fan should be weather-resistant if you plan to install it outside.

Essential tools for ceiling fan installation include a ladder, screwdriver, pliers, wire strippers, and a circuit tester. If the ceiling is angled or features unique configurations, ensure the availability of a compatible mounting bracket.
