The provided had installed a chimney cap for me a few years ago. Recently, water has been entering the chimney and I asked the provider to check the chimney cap and crown as I had some tree limbs removed and thought they might have disturbed the cap in the process. The provider checked on the situation and reported that he thought the flashing had failed at the juncture of the roof and chimney. He suggested we call a roofer and provided contact info for one, for reference. The job involved removal of the asphalt shingles and then remove the old wood shakes roof that was underneath the asphalt shingles. Quite a job with a lot of labor just to remove the old roof. After removing the old roof, then installed a new roof deck of OSB with radiant barrier, premium felt, premium shingles, upgraded ridge, new drip edge, metal valleys, new lead roof jacks and vents, and a new custom chimney cap made to match the original that was damaged by the hail. They also improved the attic ventilation by adding additional soffit vents. Very nice job with good workmanship. Good cleanup after the work. Had a couple of very minor cosmetic issues and they returned quickly and fixed them. Robert Ross, the salesman, was great, kept us informed all along the way, answered any questions, and was always available by cell phone and email, and really stayed on top of the job to make sure everything was as it should be. He initiated frequent follow-ups with us to make sure we were completely satisfied. Sad or not, the repairs recommended would NOT have fixed the problem. It was the chimney cap, which this contractor insisted was NOT the issue. $2700 was the estimate, and it wouldn't have solved the issue.

Polar Bear Chimney Sweep was started in 1985 by my father. I grew up helping him by installing fireplaces and stoves. He has since passed the company to me. Our number one priority to this day is still to make sure our customers have a safe fireplace and/or stove to heat their home.

Locally owned and operated general contracting company staffed with licensed insurance adjusters and in house tradesman.
"This is the same owner of DFW General contracting. See that review. Charles Christie and Jason Schemmel. Same guys have that as are listed here as contacts. I had to spend upwards of $3,500 less than a year after they repaired my roof. They did a horrible job!!! The flashing around our chimney looked like a child did the work. Holes, screws and tons of caulking. I've added photos here of what these guy's call workmanship, or lack there of. I've been trying to pin them down to sue them. They may try to change their company name but I will find them. I'm back having to repair the inside of my home due to the water damage from their shoddy work. I will go as far as saying NEVER hire these guys and I mean ANY work. Don't even let them cut your grass."

Park Place Roofing, LLC was formed from the ground-up in Dallas in 2005 by The Smith Family, who have had their hand in the construction business for over 50 years. The Smith's spent their early careers working tough jobs in commercial and residential construction as well as farming, where they learned a lot about the value of hard work and an appreciation for the tangible results that come with manual labor. They started Park Place Roofing with the goal to bring honesty and dedication to the roofing industry, their customers, and their employees.
"My Husband and I have rental houses throughout McKinney and we have found our forever roofing company. Park Place Roofing has replaced three roofs so far and we could not be happier with the quality of work. Brenda, the owner, is so easy to work with. She does what she says and says what she does. I highly recommend !"

Family grown construction business, serving North Texas since 2002.
"To begin with it was good. Great communication along with a good price. After he was paid the service and communication went down hill. The roof was removed and replaced on a Saturday. The crew did not speak any English and used a phone app to communicate with me. Marc was no where to be found on the replacement day. Fast forward 10 months, and there are a few minor issues. One of the roofing shingles blew off. And a vent pipe in the attic was broken. Also, the gutter guards were missing. Marc's replies were that a tree rubbed the shingle lose, the nearest tree branch is over 20 feet away. Then he said it was a squirrel. The pipe he said had nothing to do with the roof. I made the comment that the roofers had to move the pipe on the roof to get the shingles in place. After waiting over a month for someone to come check everything out, Marc quoted me $500 to make the repairs that should have been covered under warranty. I asked ofr his Insurance information and he would not provide it to me. I have several pictures of the damaged items."

FAQs for chimney cap service projects in Trenton, TX
Chimney caps may be installed by a few different professionals, including a chimney sweep or a mason that specializes in fireplaces and chimneys. A gas fireplace technician is the best person to install a chimney cap on a gas log fireplace vent to be sure the cap is appropriate for the application.
A chimney cap costs about $300 on average. The prices range from about $75 to $1,000, depending on the material, size, any repairs needed, and if your chimney cap requires custom fabrication. Chimney caps are usually made from galvanized steel, copper, or stainless steel. Additional costs may include hiring a chimney sweep to clean the chimney before a cap is installed.
Help reduce energy bills by helping regulate your home’s temperature
Typically, a chimney cap will last from three to 25 years. This wide range is due to variables like climate, the material the cap is made from, and how often you use your fireplace. Regular inspections and maintenance can help extend the life of your chimney cap.
The best style of chimney cap for a brick chimney is one that fits tightly around the brick top of the chimney. The cap should have a screen to fully enclose it to keep animals out. The best materials include stainless steel, copper, or aluminum that fit tightly or are custom fabricated for a perfect fit on your chimney.
