More bids/estates came in much higher than theirs AND I also learned from others I could buy my own water heater and pay a plumber for insulation only. "We had G.L. Hunt come out to assess our pier and beam foundation after noticing a crack in the garage. They were the second company to come out and the second company to say that the foundation had not failed. There was however a lack of drainage around the foundation. It is an older home (1950's) and did not have any drainage around the foundation and no gutters. The house sits on a street that slopes. We scheduled G.L. Hunt to install drainage to help move water away from the foundation and have gutters installed. The work crew arrived at the scheduled date and time and worked diligently over 2 days to install a french drainage system. Gutters were installed the following week and connected to the system. The workers were neat and used the soil displaced by the drains to level an area in the backyard."

He actually rebar and concrete my limestone bricks around my house and cleaned all the beds out, actually added mortar to my bricks and made a beautiful flower bed all the way around my house and he actually put water drain pipes in between some bricks so Water doesn?t pile up in my beds. "I HAVE USED THEM IN THE PAST TO INSTALL 17 PIERS ON MY HOME.  WORK WAS PERFORMED TO MY SATISFACTION THEN AND PIERS HAD HELP UP UNTIL THE DROUGHT OF 2011.  CALLED THEM BACK OUT TO PERFORM WARRANTY WORK ON FRONT OF HOUSE SINCE THE HOUSE HAD DROPPED ABOUT 1.5" ON THE SE CORNER.   WE DECIDED TO HAVE THEM PERFORM SOME ADDITIONAL WORK ON THE GARAGE AND BACK OF THE HOUSE SINCE THEY WERE GOING TO BE ONSITE. 

WORK PROGRESSED WELL, HOWEVER CREW FOREMAN APPARENTLY WAS NOT INFORMED THAT THE CONCRETE PIERS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE INSTALLED 9' DEEP FROM GRADE.  AS THEY WERE AUGERING IN THE HOLES THE FOREMAN NOTIFIED ME THAT SOME OF THE HOLES WERE AS DEEP AS THEY COULD GET, ( I.E. 4 FEET DEEP) AND THIS IS ALL HE COULD GET WITH HIS AUGERING MACHINE.  I INFORMED THE FOREMAN THAT I PAID FOR NINE FEET AND EXPECTED NINE FEET SO THEY NEEDED TO GET BIGGER EQUIPMENT OUT TO COMPLETE THE PROJECT.   PHONE CALLS WERE MADE AND ANOTHER SUPERVISOR SHOWED UP ONSITE AND THEY WERE ABLE TO GET ALL THE PIERS TO NINE FEET OR GREATHER THE FOLLOWING DAY.  THEY DID A GOOD JOB, HOWEVER IT WAS MY IMPRESSION THAT IF I HAD NOT BEEN ONSITE TO INSPECT THE WORK, I WOULD NOT HAVE RECEIVED NINE FOOT PIERS ON THE 11 ADDITIONAL PIERS I HAD INSTALLED.  GARAGE AND HOUSE WAS JACKED AND LEVELED TO MY SATISFACTION. 

FRONT OF THE HOUSE WAS LEVELED WHEN I WAS NOT PRESENT AND I HAVE YET TO RECEIVE A SATSIFACTORY EXPLANATION OF WHAT CAUSED THE FAILURE OF THE PREVIOUS PIERS.  REGARDING THE WORK THEY DID A GOOD JOB AND I STILL FEEL THE CONCRETE PIERS ARE THE BEST SOLUTION FOR LEVELING A HOUSE.  I AM CRITICAL OF THEM FROM THE STANDPOINT THAT I HAD TO STAY ON TOP OF THE CREW TO ENSURE THAT I GOT WHAT I PAID FOR IN THE CONTRACT."
