"We’re currently remodeling two bathrooms under the same contract. The first bathroom is complete, and the second one just started this week. While their bid wasn’t the lowest we received, it felt fair and, in hindsight, definitely worth it. The project manager was an excellent communicator—knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and never pressured us to accept the offer. We’re extremely pleased with the quality of work on the first bathroom and are confident the second will turn out just as well. A tip for future clients: make sure you have all the necessary materials on hand. We did, and the team completed the bathroom ahead of schedule. The space is narrow, so the photo angles don’t do it justice, but I hope they still give a sense of the high-quality work delivered."

"I was very impressed with Sentri Homes - their customer service was excellent. They sent a subcontractor to install some vinyl laminate in my bathroom and he ended up getting glue all over the carpet in our bedroom. The sub ended up ghosting both me and Sentri, leaving me stuck with a ruined carpet. Sentri stuck with me for over a month to get the carpet replaced with the identical original and to get the vinyl job 100% completed. The carpet was a Home Depot exclusive and Sentri handled everything with them. I will be using Sentri for a much bigger renovation I have coming up soon, because I know that they will make sure everything gets done right no matter what problems come up. The vinyl looks great too."

"Maria did a walkthrough of our home and helped us discover mold in our walls immediately after the hurricane. She promptly brought in someone to rip out the impacted walls. She brought in the teams needed to replace our floors as well. The process was very quick and the end result was very good. We get compliments all the time on how great our house now looks. She also helped us landscape our yard and brought in someone to install a new pergola and sitting area. I highly recommend Maria and her team if your are looking for someone to do high quality and professional work on your home.

"Me and my Husband decided to renovate our old house. We manged to take a loan from the bank and to find a contractor. We have received a couple of estimates from 3 different contractors. The estimated price was very high approximately the same as building of new house. We decided to move forward and rebuild our old one family house in a new 2-story house. We took this company and we really very happy with our new results. Now our house is very reliable, strong and beautiful. The total project cost us around $260k but now we have a brand new house. Our investment was right and I would like to work with Houston Renovation in the future too.
Sincerely, Helen.

"I went very well , but it took two days and they are hard to get a hold of for communications to schedule/follow-up
They sanded and restained perfectly.
They resealed with minwax gloss

The door wouldn't close right. I asked them and they looked at the hinges. I told the worker Ismahel and he would let the owner Danny know. Danny never contacted me back. The door latch hardware was installed upside down and backwards. I ended up having to take the hardware off and reinstall myself. The slanted part of the latch was facing away from the door jam.
Summary:
(1) They are somewhat difficult to contact to schedule work.
(2) The price is a little high.
(3) The work quality is very good.

Home Building questions, answered by experts

A green home is one that focuses on conservation, with the goal often being net-zero carbon emissions and self-sustainability. It will often include some kind of self-generation equipment, like solar panels or a small wind turbine, high-efficiency electrical components and mechanicals, and high-quality insulation and air sealing to reduce the loss of conditioned air. Many green homes also include xeriscaping or rainwater collection to cut down on drainage and water consumption.

Framing is often the most expensive phase of building a house because it’s time-consuming and requires a lot of materials. It costs between $20,000 and $50,000 on average, depending on materials and labor costs. Before construction begins, it’s possible that purchasing land is the priciest step in the process. Some plots of land sell for $3,000, while others cost upwards of $150,000.

Whether a prefab home is worth it or not will depend on your personal needs and preferences. Overall, prefab homes tend to cost less than traditional homes, although they also tend to have lower resale values. Another thing to consider is that prefab homes usually last 50 to 60 years or longer, while traditional homes last 50 to 100 years or more.

Construction typically takes 3-6 months, including site preparation and assembly.

Shipping container homes last at least 25 years on average, but they can last even longer with proper maintenance. Since shipping containers are made from metal, they’re quite vulnerable to rust and corrosion. This issue is exacerbated in coastal areas or areas with a lot of precipitation. To extend the life span of your container home, install siding that protects the exterior.
