You can use a soft-close hinge adapter on existing cabinet doors instead of buying new soft-close hinges. If you want soft-close cabinet doors on a budget, invest in the small adapters that allow you to convert an existing hinge to a soft-close style. They’re much less expensive than new soft-close hinges and are simpler to install. However, they don’t always last as long.

Many cabinets use “J-pulls” or other handless designs. However, frequent use also gets these areas very dirty over time. A simple household cleaner and a soft washing cloth is usually enough to clean these areas when grime builds up. Adding a layer of lemon oil or beeswax can help prevent finishes from wearing off.

Costs range from $1,500 to $5,000, depending on the number of cabinets and labor.

In a kitchen installation, starting with the foundation and structural elements before moving on to the finishing touches is essential. Framing, plumbing, and utilities should go first, followed by cabinetry and countertops, then plumbing fixtures and new appliances.
