Hugo did a fantastic job. Had a lot of brush removed but found lumber under brush and removed it too. The price was reasonable and the job he did was great. I would definitely use Hugo for a job well done!

Coverage varies quite a bit by policy, but most homeowners' insurance policies will cover $500 to $1,000 of the cost of removing a tree. Additionally, if your tree causes damage to your property, like your house, many policies will cover some or all of the costs to repair the damage, depending on why the tree fell.

Using a drill to bore holes in the stump's center speeds up the process, whatever method you use. If you don’t have a drill, you can still chainsaw or chisel the stump to make it hollow; it will just take more elbow grease and time. Steer clear of burning the stump to hollow it if you can’t drill some holes in it first. Otherwise, getting it to light, stay lit, and burn right through will be a challenge.

A tree can grow back from its stump, but full regrowth is unlikely (especially for more stubborn conifer trees). Instead, trees are more likely to send up a number of shoots from the dead stump, which will try to develop into primary stems over time. In other words, it will start to look increasingly bushy. The goal of killing and drying out a tree stump is to prevent that from happening, as well as make the stump easier to completely remove.
