Here at The Lawn Sprinkler Guy, I am focused on helping customers save water and helping them understand how to use their irrigation system. Most systems are not programed correctly, most are set to run too long and waste water. I can help you understand how many minutes each zone should have and when to raise or lower the zone time according to the weather. I can set up a water budget so you are able to keep track of water usage and how much it cost per zone and minute to run your system. I have over 20 years in the irrigation field and hold a current Texas state licence in Irrigation.

"I have hired John "The Lawn Sprinkler Guy" several times over the past 8-years and each and every time he has done it "right the first time" and I know that I can depend on the quality of his work, price, professionalism, and customer-friendly service. Today was no different, John was on-time and quickly identified all the problems, got them fixed and we are back in operation. Without a doubt, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND John for any sprinkler system repairs, tuneups, etc."

"Started out ok, but the ending was less than acceptable. Friendly at the start and they were timely for the appointment. They started out well and trimmed many branches, but as time went by, they slowed down considerably. By the time 4 hours had elapsed, they claimed they were tired and had completed what they came to do. We're good people and rarely argue, but some of what we wanted done was never completed. We assumed they would finish, but they were actually done. Don't know about you, but $1800 for 4 hours of labor and an incomplete job seems excessive to us. We're retired and not wealthy people ... we worked hard for what we have. We never made $450 an hour ($1800/4 hours = $450). We wish them well ... others have provided good ratings, which was the reason we hired them in the first place. Maybe we just received service on a bad day ... we suppose that happens."

That means I WILL NOT REST until we make it right. I will immediately send my team to fix the problem no questions asked… If it's still not good enough we will pay a competitor of your choosing to fix it for you… That is how strongly I believe you will love what we do. Let us prove it to you!" – Douglas Macario, Founder Macario Brother's Lawn Care

"Stay away!!! I've spent over a thousand dollars on this lawn company for 6-8 weeks of mowing and extensive lawn care/ maintenance, and my lawn looks worse now than when they started. Because of them, my lawn has fungus- they admitted to miscalculating the treatment which caused the fungus. They don't guarantee their services. And now they are dodging my calls and emails and trying to point blame elsewhere. No accountability or responsibility. Stay away!!!!! Their work is sloppy and they leave grass trimmings on the lawn (they cut my lawn when it was raining and left the trimmings heavily layered on top of what was previously healthy lush grass); patches of grass are cut down to their roots; and edges are carved out completely. I also utilized this company at the onset for additional lawn care and maintenance, but know that you will be dealing with a different company (outsourced), but you are paying Macario directly. The scheduling and coordinating of the mowing, care and maintenance is an utter mess. There is no communication on scheduling, process and next steps. They are good at taking your money though!! So after spending so much money with these guys, I have grass that's infected with fungus (they admitted to not using the right mix of chemicals for the treatment). And I wouldn't doubt their equipment is dirty and old which only makes the problem worse."

Total Home And Lawn is a small landscaping/lawn maintenance company. Marcus Salcher is the owner and has been in bussiness since 2003. Specializing in landscape installation, lawn maintenance, they do offer many other services related to horticulture and/or home enhancement.

"It was discussed at the beginning that their crew will come and look at the sprinkler problem and give me a quote. after the review they gave me a sky rocketing quote ($5000-$6000) so i decided to move on with some other company, they fixed the problem in less than $500. two months down the lane I receive $125 an invoice for inspection which I was told that they would just come out and give me a quote, no cost for inspection. Unfortunately, there is no email or txt about this so I can't prove it. The person at the front desk apologizes for the miss communication, but i still have to pay for it. I would not recommend this company. Make sure to get everything in written if you are going with them."

Leaf Removal questions, answered by experts

Yes, in most municipalities, arborists or tree surgeons need to hold an arborist’s license, which usually requires specialized education and specific experience. Certified arborists must also pass an exam from the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA). In addition to a license, you should always confirm that the tree surgeon you’re hiring is fully insured, as this can help you avoid legal problems if the professional gets injured on your property. Keep in mind that some municipalities require tree removal and other services to be completed by a licensed arborist.

There are many signs that a tree is diseased or dying, and if you suspect that’s the case, you should call an arborist immediately. You might notice rot or fungus on the trunk or that the tree is beginning to lean to one side. Brittle branches or signs of root damage are other indicators that a tree is in trouble. If the tree is dying, it might be time to cut the tree down so it doesn’t fall.

Mature lilac bushes that are large and overgrown are more challenging to remove than small lilac bushes. Large lilac bushes have deeper roots that are more widespread, making it harder to dig them up and remove them. If you don’t dig under and around the primary roots, then you run the risk of the lilac bush growing back. So, it is a time-consuming process if done correctly.

There are many ways to cut through roots when digging, especially if your trencher doesn’t seem to be removing the roots. First, use a shovel to expose the roots. Then, use gardening shears to clear out smaller roots or a reciprocating saw to remove larger plant roots. If you plan on keeping the plant, avoid cutting any roots over 2 inches thick.

Bleach can potentially kill some types of delicate ornamental trees, but for the most part, it will only kill the foliage it comes in contact with. Applying bleach is not an effective method of killing a tree. A better option is to use an herbicide, which is a chemical compound designed to effectively kill a tree.
