I am a residential and light commercial painting contractor, that has worked for homeowners in the San Antonio area since 1985. Almost all of my work I perform myself, and on rare occasion, will sub-contract other trades to provide a more complete service. If you have something that needs painting at your house or business, it is done only by me. I rarely ask for money down. It is usually total on completion. Scott S. Cruger

Owner operated. Will discuss the project with client prior to bringing in subcontractors. Will discuss the need for licensed service providers on certain project aspects, as necessary (i.e., plumber, electrician, HVAC, etc.).

"Robert was very punctual, professional, friendly, extremely knowledgeable and competent. We had a reverse osmosis system under the kitchen sink that needed to be replaced. He removed the old one and installed the new one. He also put a screen door back on track, adjusted a toilet handle and replaced a sink drain stopper in our bathroom. I highly recommend him."

"My husband and I needed some painting done around the house - outside shed, garage, and inside foyer leading to upstairs. We ended up going with Champion Painting. We called them and got an initial quote a few days later. Travis, Richard and crew were fantastic. They were punctual, personable, reasonable, paid attention to detail, and most of all they finished when they said they would. I’m very pleased with the end result and would highly recommend them. We’re trying to find what else we can have them paint! Lol"

I have been in the construction trades for over twenty years, under my own name since 1993. I do just about everything from frame to finish eliminating the need to call more than one person. I went into to painting new consruction custom homes and finishing cabinetry and trim. Along the way I have learned to refinish furniture, build cabinetry, install trim and cabinets, and make pretty much anything one can dream up out of wood, from furniture to catapults, I've made it.

Wallpaper Removal questions, answered by experts

White walls are considered a classic and timeless look and will most likely always be in style. A white wall easily blends into any type of home decor style which makes it a suitable option for most homeowners. Another appealing quality about white walls is that if it's not a color someone is going for, the color is easy to paint over.

You’ll need to wash the walls to remove wallpaper adhesive residue after removal as part of the prep process for painting or rehanging wallpaper. Old adhesive can cause texture issues and prevent paint or wallpaper from adhering properly to the wall’s surface.

Painting over wood paneling is an option that can save you money and time. However, if you go this route, the style and texture of the wood you paint over will still be evident. Painting over paneling is an excellent way to modernize an otherwise outdated aesthetic. Instead of removing wood panels, consider painting them a bright color–like white or ivory. This is essentially wainscoting, but without any of the required installation.

You may end up with extra wallpaper once your project is finished. Hang on to that wallpaper, as you may need to use it to patch up areas that get damaged later on. If you have a lot of excess wallpaper, try getting creative with it. You can use it to line the inside of a cabinet or drawers, for example.

How long peel-and-stick wallpaper lasts depends on a few factors, including the conditions in the room, the quality of the wallpaper, and the wallpaper's application. As a general rule, peel-and-stick wallpaper can last for at least five years, but you may decide to remove it sooner. Under ideal conditions, it can also last for much longer.

Factors that may shorten the lifespan of peel-and-stick wallpaper include high humidity in a room (such as a bathroom), dirty walls, and low-quality paper.
