"Dave installed an aluminum mailbox on an aluminum post bolted to our concrete sidewalk and repaired some of the damage done when our local trash truck ran over our old mailbox. There was more to this project than either of us expected, but Dave figured it out and got it done in a reasonable time on an afternoon plagued by 102-degree heat. In spite of the challenging work conditions, Dave was smiling and upbeat the whole time...he's a real pro!"

"Diego came and helped me repair my garage and kitchen ceiling. They were beginning to detach, fall in patches and black spots from a water leak. He fixed it in less than a week and my urgency was treated like his emergency. He also worked with my schedule as a single parent. In today’s society it is very rare and very appreciated! His number is saved to my favorites for all projects. I have a white ceiling again! 10/10"

"I had a chain link fence that required two posts to be replaced. They both had a lot of old concrete that had to be removed before new posts could be installed. Luis worked diligently to completely remove the old concrete and get the new posts and gate installed. It was a very difficult repair. I would highly recommend Luis for any fencing project and I will be using him again in the future. Definitely five stars."

Mailbox Repair questions, answered by experts

It is generally worth repairing leather furniture rather than replacing it, as it is typically more affordable and the material tends to retain its value. A typical repair averages around $250, which is significantly less than the thousands of dollars a replacement could cost. Even a full reupholstering, which can cost up to $4,000, may still be more economical than buying new. With proper care, repaired leather furniture can last for many years, making the investment worthwhile. However, if the underlying structure or frame of the furniture is damaged or malfunctioning, replacement might be a better option. The quality of the leather and the furniture piece are also important factors. For a definitive answer, it is best to consult a leather repair professional to assess your specific situation.

Old pianos can be hard to sell for a few reasons. Pianos fifty years or older may only sell for several hundred dollars and will often cost more to transport to the new owners. Restoring a piano also costs well into the thousands, making it pretty hard to make your money back. In most cases, donating or recycling the parts of a piano is more cost-efficient and beneficial in the long run.

Some movers will disassemble bed frames and include this in their price. Others will charge extra for this service, so always check before booking. Disassembling the furniture yourself is one way to lower the cost of moving a bed frame if you have the tools, the time, and the extra bodies to help you complete the task safely.

Lamp repair typically takes 30 minutes to a few hours, depending on the complexity of the repair and whether parts need to be ordered.

Fixing a drawer that is sticky, askew, or broken depends on the specific problem. Start by removing the drawer and examining the slides and tracks for any damage, bent parts, or loose hardware.

For minor issues:

  • Clean and Lubricate: If the slides are just sticky, clean them and the corresponding tracks with a hot, damp cloth. Then, apply a lubricant like silicone spray or bar soap to help them glide smoothly. Also, check any roller wheels for problems.

  • Tighten Screws: Tighten any loose screws on the slides and tracks. If screw holes are stripped, you may need to fill them and re-drill.

For more significant damage:

  • Bent Hardware: If a slide is bent, you may be able to remove it, straighten it out, and reinstall it.

  • Broken Parts: If a slide or track is broken or severely damaged, it will need to be replaced. Unscrew the damaged part and install a replacement that matches the type and size of the original.

After performing the repair, reinsert the drawer and test it to ensure it opens and closes smoothly, making any final adjustments for proper alignment. It can also be helpful to consult the manufacturer's guidelines for your specific drawer system.
