"We had lived in our new home a few months and knew we needed to have a water softener installed. ?We had met this company at a home show and they took our information. ?Expecting to be overwhelmed by phone calls from all the water softener companies we met at the home show, this company was the only one to make a sales call. ?After doing my preliminary review of all the companies I felt comfortable with scheduling a home demonstration. The salesman they sent to our home was somewhat new but extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. ?Bo?answered all of our questions, and made us feel comfortable with moving forward with the installation. ?We were not able to purchase the system right away and asked Bo to please call us back in 6 months, as we did not want to finance this purchase. ?He took our information, and called us back exactly 6 months later, returned to our home and completed the sale. ?He was also able to schedule the installation for the next business day. The installer showed up to our home exactly as scheduled and performed the installation in a timely and?professional manner. ?Bo also, returned to help with the installation. ?There were no problems with the installation and we were comfortable with operation of the water softener and the reverse osmosis. We purchased the Hydronex water softener?system, and the Micromax 6000 reverse osmosis. ?We have only had the system for a couple of days, but I am extremely happy with this purchase, and the entire ProStar team. ?We are happy to part of the ProStar family and look forward to continuing our business with them."

"This is the 4th unit we have replaced in our 35 year marriage. We both believe Henry Rodriguez is one of the most knowledgeable heating and air conditioning person we have ever met. He is the owner of the company and takes great pride in his work and the work done by his employees.
Our duct work was improperly installed and  had lots of holes in the ducts. Henry went over and beyond my husbands expectation. When they encountered something that was done improperly, he fixed it at no additional charge to us. He even found copper pipe that was improperly sized and replaced it.
His crew were very clean cut, professional, polite men.
We would absolutely hire them again and recommend that anyone in need of heating or air conditioning work call Texas Air for a free consultation.
This company is way beyond a 10.....we would give them a 20.

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

There are several types of home radiators, and the most common are steam heat radiators, electric radiators, and dual-fuel radiators. Steam heat radiators are connected to a boiler. Electric radiators can operate without being connected to anything else—they just need an electrical outlet. If you have a dual-fuel radiator, you’ll see a valve at the bottom of the system with a wire coming out of it and going into a wall. These are often your towel radiators in the bathroom. The type of radiator you have will impact how you turn it on.

The average lifespan of a boiler is typically between 15 and 20 years, though some may last for as little as 10 years while others can reach 30. A boiler's longevity is influenced by several factors, including the quality of the unit, proper installation, and consistent professional maintenance.

The material also plays a significant role. Older boilers made from durable cast iron can last for over 20 years, with some functioning for up to 50 years. However, it's important to consider their lower efficiency, which can lead to higher utility bills. Modern boilers, often made from steel alloys, are designed to withstand high pressure and temperatures and have an average lifespan of about 20 years.

To maximize your boiler's lifespan, ensure it is installed correctly, have it professionally maintained each year, and address any necessary repairs immediately.

If you go to turn it counterclockwise and it won’t turn anymore, it’s open. Like most other valves, you should be able to turn a radiator valve counterclockwise (to the left) to open it and clockwise (right) to close it. To close a radiator valve, turn it clockwise until you meet some resistance and can’t turn anymore, but do so carefully to avoid breaking the valve.

A common HVAC rule is that for every 500 to 600 square feet of living space, you need 1 ton of heating or cooling capacity. Now that you know this common rule, you also need to know that it isn’t very accurate, and a dedicated pro wouldn’t use it for your home. If you talk to a pro who won’t or can’t perform a proper Manual J calculation, consider hiring someone more thorough.

If you want a new boiler that’s going to help lower your fuel bills, you should buy one that has a high energy-efficiency rating. For example, a boiler that is rated “A” uses at least 90% of the energy created by the boiler. And in order to enjoy the best performance, it’s important to have it installed properly by a highly-rated tech.
