"They were exemplary in design, professionalism, and our need for rapid install before Thanksgiving company. I am a detail person, so I had him show me his suggestions for the different areas, he listened to my specific tree choices, started right away, stayed with the project all day to refine his design while the plants were there. He had ideas that were big improvements of an area that I didn't think of (too many blank spaces). I did ask him to detail number and size of all plants that were on his proposal. I cut out a few things (not a big fan of big rocks), etc, and at no extra cost, he adjusted all my sprinklers and drip lines to go with the new plants. The little trees looked like tall sticks, but they bloomed out gorgiously like he said they would early spring. Unlike many landscapers, he didn't want to charge me for his ideas, a plan, his suggestions, and he came up with many touches that enhanced all. Love it. He was great to work with. It was paid by check. From experience, most contractors don't take credit cards. They worked so hard all day and the result was fantastic."

"It is hard to find a paving company that is honest and will follow up as they said. They are a local company and not "asphalt gypsies". They installed asphalt and then came back and sealed my driveway as agreed. He takes pride in his work and is honest and reliable."

"I can not express how helpful and kind Jay and Jennifer are. They did an excellent job helping us with our culvert and drive way. The driveway withstood huge trucks, trailers and lots of weather. It still looks just like the day they finished. Besides the great job on the drive way they also went above and beyond in helping us answer questions and explore foundation options. We will definitely use them for all of our paving needs."

"The contractor was always available and responded quickly to questions and to provide information to help identify best options to create optimum results without unnecessary expense. He then worked with the Township to fully meet code requirements within those same goals. The site team worked in a coordinated and cooperative manner to produce a functional and visually satisfying final product. They paid close attention to project production and finishing details as well as respect for the surrounding area."

"Asphalt Construction of Gainesville did an outstanding job on my driveway. They transformed an old mess of ruts, gravel and chunks of concrete into an attractive and smooth solid surface. It took only two days. Buddy, his dad, and the rest of the team were punctual, professional, and great to work with. They have all the equipment necessary to do an outstanding job, and you can tell by the way they work that they have plenty of experience. They left my property looking cleaner than when they arrived, and even salvaged some existing material to create a parking pad for my RV. I have already received numerous compliments on their work, and I highly recommend them for any paving project, large or small."

Paving Services questions, answered by experts

If pavers are uneven but not sunken, lift the affected bricks and check the bedding sand underneath. In many cases, simply smoothing out or adjusting the sand is enough to level them. Add or remove small amounts as needed, then press the pavers back into place and tap them with a mallet until they sit evenly with the surrounding surface.

You can pour concrete over asphalt if it’s in good condition, thick, stable, and well-compacted. Concrete is more durable than asphalt and can extend the lifetime of your driveway without having to pay frequent asphalt driveway repair costs or replace it completely.

But this is best reserved as a temporary solution based on budget restraints, as asphalt requires more frequent repairs and assessments than concrete. Once that concrete top is poured, it’ll be harder to accurately understand what’s happening beneath that layer, which could lead to more issues.

Like brick, paver, and cobblestone driveways, resin driveways can have intricate patterns using different colors. Aggregates can be laid to create curves, shapes, letters, or numbers. When using custom colors or patterns, homeowners can expect to add an extra $2 to $6 per square foot to achieve their desired look.

Three inches is a great thickness for a residential asphalt driveway that sees minimal to moderate traffic from cars, SUVs, and pickup trucks. However, a thicker driveway can better withstand the weight of a heavier vehicle, such as a trailer or a recreational vehicle. If you drive a heavy vehicle on a thin driveway, you risk cracking and damaging it.

Yes, you should lightly wet the sand with a hose before laying the pavers on top. This activates the bonding agents in the sand, ensuring that your pavers don’t shift around during the installation process. However, you should make sure that the sand is not soaked; overwatering can cause the sand and pavers to not set properly.
