"We live in Cedar Rapids Iowa . We had 115mph-145mph winds 2 weeks ago. Victor and his crew are up here from Texas helping our local community do tree removal. I called them within 1 day he was over and gave a very reasonable bid . Next morning they had the crew there and took care of our needs . There was xtra TLC done To our trees that was performed without xtra charge. They went over the top. Would rehire in a second. If your looking for tree removal in the Cedar Rapids area get ahold of this crew!!"

"We hired Anderson Paint to dry out and restore our home after flooding from Tropical Storm Imelda. George himself was at our the house the day after the storm, and his crew started two days after. Their work is impeccable, and we are so pleased. A little more than a month after the flood, and our home is almost back to normal! His crew even went beyond the call of duty and helped change my daughter's flat tire one afternoon when we weren't home. I cannot say enough good things about Anderson Paint! Highly recommend!"

Leaf Removal questions, answered by experts

Unfortunately, lead dust does not look different from any other type of dust. You cannot detect it with the naked eye. To determine if you have lead dust in your home, you will need to hire a local company to take a sample from the paint and test it for you in a lab.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), hazardous waste is generally classified into four main categories:

1. Characteristic Wastes: These exhibit at least one of four hazardous traits: ignitability (flammable, like gasoline), corrosivity (can rust or decompose materials, like car batteries), reactivity (unstable and can explode, like aerosol cans), or toxicity (harmful when ingested, like lead-based paint).

2. Listed Wastes: These are specific wastes from manufacturing and industrial processes that the EPA has officially designated as hazardous. They include byproducts from processes that use solvents, pesticides, and other chemicals.

3. Universal Wastes: These are commonly generated hazardous items that are subject to streamlined regulations. Examples include batteries, pesticides, mercury-containing equipment (e.g., bulbs), and some lamps.

4. Mixed Wastes: This category includes waste that contains both hazardous and radioactive components, making it subject to regulation by both the EPA and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

If the lead paint is in a place that is not easily disturbed and is not flaking or deteriorating, you do not necessarily need to remove it. Lead is toxic when dust particles or flakes from peeling lead paint are ingested. If people are not in the area with the lead paint, it may be safe to leave it in place. You still may want to consider encapsulation with a paint formulated for covering lead-based paint, just for an added layer of protection.

It is safe to remove old linoleum, but it may require the help of a specialist due to the risk of asbestos in the material. Before you cut into linoleum or try to peel it up, have it tested for asbestos. If it tests positive, professionals will need to remove it to prevent the risk of health issues from airborne toxic particles. If it’s asbestos-free, DIY removal is possible and safe.

Some companies offer hazardous waste removal, but additional fees and special handling procedures may be required.
