I used Redenta's after they completed landscape design for my sister's house and my parent's house. I am so happy with what they planted and the deck design they included. They use native plants so they are easier to care for and are used to the TX climate.
I was so happy with the garden beds they create, organic soil prep, plants they picked, and how they created an outdoor extension of a living area that fit our personality, time constraints and style. When we had another nursery do a lawn evaluation to see what nutrients we have and are lacking in our soil, we met with Redenta's to develop an amendment plan. Basically, in West Fort Worth, when you have clay and rock with a tiny amount of dirt thrown on top of it, you're often prone to have a lot of weeds (which can grow in more rugged environments) and difficulty with grass. To combat that, they started doing organic soil amendments in the compost they'd put down 2x a year. It's something that takes a while, but it is a healthier way than throwing down a lot of chemicals. Unfortunately, because of some financial problems, we've not been able to continue that service. But, I can tell the difference and the soil evaluation is a lot better.
In 2011 and 2012, we used their Garden Maintain service. They come in and mulch, cut back plants, weed gardens, etc. Then, 4 - 5 times during the growing season, they come out and weed, cut back, etc. It is expensive, but it is worth it. They do such a great job and are really responsive to questions and concerns.
One of the huge benefits of a family business and of this business in particular is how much they care about their clients. When we had a family tragedy, they did everything they could to take pressure off of my father and my by doing some work in ways that they don't normally do it and for the "early sign up" discounted price. It was more helpful than I could ever begin to express.
In general, their prices are high, but you get what you pay for. Their knowledge, skills and work ethic along with the benefits of going organic make Redenta's an ideal choice for landscape design, garden maintenance or just nursery services.

He came out, placed flags around the sunken parts of my lawn and then left. He assured me that when he had time he'd come out and fix the lawn as planned. He initially quoted me $350 for the job but then I asked him about mulch. For $200 more he'd mulch my trees with cedar as well as a Magnolia in the back yard. I thought the price was right. His guys scooped up the old sod, watered and then tamped down the soil. Then they re-sodded. The sod looked old and dead but Brad reassured me that if I watered it everyday it would come back. And indeed it did! I would recommend Legacy Landscaping to anyone. If you have a little-bitty job don't expect immediate results. They can't make a living from our tiny little jobs. They scheduled appointments at my convenience to do two properties;a rental house I own and at my home. In both cases, they removed a couple of big trees that had been damaged by a storm, removed split branches, trimmed limbs away from the roof, topped a tree or two, and generally trimmed up the trees. The best part for me was that they left me with fire wood and they chipped all the wood so that I had mulch for the flower beds. Paid a premium and expected the job would be done professionally. I arrived home on the day of the project and there was one guy on the job sleeping on my front porch. Had several quality problems I had to address. The reason I paid a premium for the work is so I don't have to constantly...

This is the second time I have used Leon and will use him again if needed. Came out and gave me an estimate which was extremely reasonable. Came back the next day with his crew and started work. Could not finish the job in one day (told you it was a large tree!), so returned the next day. We...

FAQs for mulch and topsoil service projects in North Richland Hills, TX
Topsoil costs from $12 to $55 per cubic yard, depending on the type you choose. For example, screened black dirt will cost about $15 per cubic yard. Loam (soil composed of sand, silt, and clay) costs about $17 per cubic yard. Standard screened topsoil costs about $20 per cubic yard. The type of topsoil you need depends on your landscaping plans.
Mulch costs anywhere from $30 to $150 per cubic yard, depending on the type you choose. On the inexpensive end, red and black mulch are about $35 to $40 per cubic yard, and are typically made from recycled waste wood like shredded old pallets or deck material. Cedar, cypress, and rubber mulch cost anywhere from $100 to $120 per cubic yard. A pro can help you determine the type of mulch most suitable for your landscaping needs.
Topsoil should go down first. If the topsoil is next to your house, make sure the grade slopes away from the house to keep water from pooling against your foundation and possibly leaking into your basement or crawl space. Don’t cover your decorative landscape mulch with topsoil as that defeats the purpose of laying down the mulch. If you’re trying to create a certain soil composition to improve plant growth, you’ll likely want compost mixed into the topsoil instead of mulch. Over time, any decorative wood mulch will simply decompose under the topsoil.
No, mulch itself does not necessarily attract termites even though it’s usually made of shredded wood. Some types of mulch like cedar or cypress resist termites because they’re toxic or unappetizing to the wood munchers. However, when the mulch is deep enough, say three inches or more, it creates a perfect habitat for insects of all kinds to build nests.
Although it’s not required to lay anything under mulch, it can help to put landscape fabric or plastic weed barrier down and lay mulch on top. The barrier helps keep weeds from growing up through your mulch. It also helps keep rodents and insects from burrowing into the ground underneath.
