We are a full service lighting company. We specialize in the design and installation of LED outdoor lighting for homes, landscape, parking lots and interior lighting.. We convert lights to LED to save money on lamp replacement and electrical cost.

"Back in the summer of 2018, I decided to purchase landscaping lights and underwater fishing lights for my home on Lake Jacksonville. After researching different companies in East Texas, I decided to use Austin Gwartney / The Lighting Empire. The primary reason I chose Austin was because of the “lifetime warranty” he so proudly boasted on his website. It took him about two days to install everything. The price was steep (around $5,000), but I was initially impressed with the overall quality of the lights. About a month went by after installation and I accidentally hit one of the lights with my lawnmower and the plastic stake at the base of the light broke. I called Austin and his crew came out and replaced the broken plastic stake with a higher quality metal stake. He also upgraded all the other lights with metal stakes, because I was not happy with the quality of the plastic stakes that were initially used. They should have never been used in the first place…not for the amount I was spending. He assured me these replacement stakes were covered under the “lifetime warranty” and never once mentioned he would be charging me anything. At the time, everything was right in the world. Fast forward around 2 years to when I noticed our underwater fishing lights stopped working. I tried calling Austin once or twice a week for about 2 months and he never took the time to return my calls (I even left voicemails). I know Austin drives all over East Texas, he should at the very least be able to return my calls while he is driving. After TWO MONTHS, Austin finally decided to call me back and told me that he wasn’t going to fix the underwater lights until I paid him $700 for the metal stakes that were used for the warranty work. He promised me at the time of replacement that they were covered under his “lifetime warranty”. If I would’ve known he was charging $700, I would have purchased the stakes elsewhere and done the work myself. He never once brought to my attention the cost of the metal replacement stakes. This is not the way you do business! Over the past 2 years, I have referred several people on Lake Jacksonville to use Austin Gwartney / The Lighting Empire. I still even have his business sign on the front of my boathouse (which boasts the bogus “lifetime warranty”). If anyone ever calls or asks for a reference again, I will gladly tell them the truth about Austin and The Lighting Empire. $5K for landscaping lights should come with better customer service. The fact that it took Austin 2 months to even return my call is all you need to know about him as a business owner. I would definitely look elsewhere for your lighting needs!"

We have been in business for 10 years with an accredited A+ rating at the BBB. We are a "turn key" remodeling company which means we do most of the work ourselves from beginning to end without having to "sub out" work. We do many things "in house" such as framing, cabinetry installation, painting, minor electrical and plumbing. We staff confident and legal personnel within the Tyler area. Our billing procedures are that we don't collect any money up front for smaller jobs that are usually under $5,000.00 but we do expect payment upon completion. On larger projects our procedure is to get 1/3 upfront, 1/3 half way through the project and the final 1/3 at completion. We pride ourselves in customer satisfaction. We do no advertising other than "word of mouth" from happy customers. It seems we always get 1 or 2 more jobs just by making you happy and you telling your friends and family how good we were. Not advertising helps us to keep costs down and our bidding more competetive which keeps more of your money in your pocket. We are currently in the process of getting a contractors license so that we may persue some commercial jobs. We are fully insured for everyones protection.

Lighting questions, answered by experts

Table lamps, floor lamps, chandeliers, desk lamps, and antique or decorative light fixtures that hold sentimental or aesthetic value are commonly repaired.

It’s not illegal to fly an American flag at night without a light shining on it, but the U.S. Flag Code notes that it’s respectful to provide illumination. Installing a flagpole light is also common practice and will add more to your home’s curb appeal at night. Choosing a solar-powered or battery-powered light for your flag is an affordable way to provide illumination.

The average cost of lamp repair is around $75, with project expenses ranging between $30 and $100. Rewiring and replacing switches are the two most common lamp repairs homeowners need, usually costing around $60 and $80, respectively. Keep in mind that repair prices increase for particularly ornate or old antique lamps. Ask your professional lamp repair service for a price quote before agreeing to the service to determine if it’s worth the investment.

You can take a few steps to prolong the life of your holiday lights. Make sure to replace burnt-out bulbs as quickly as possible to avoid overloading the rest of the circuit and knocking out more lights. Before packing them up each year, plug each strand into the wall to confirm everything is still working. Wrap the lights carefully back into their original packaging or something similar—winding a strand tightly together or leaving it to hang loose in a storage bin can lead to frayed or damaged wiring.

Common repairs include fixing exposed wiring, replacing damaged bulbs, or repairing faulty fixtures that compromise lighting functionality.
