"Great. They addressed all our concerns about grading water away from the house. After multiple rains the grading has worked perfectly. Paid particular attention to creating clean and straight demarcation lines where asphalt met grass, essentially expanding width of the driveway 6 inches and created nice "flares" at the entrance to the driveway where the grass had been worn down. Before, the driveway looked like the hodge-podge of previous layers (two to three) of asphalt it was with very poor drainage. They dug up and carried away tons of old asphalt and graded. Now it looks neat and "buttoned up" as they would say. Friends of ours saw the completed job and had the guys come over to their home to get a quote to do their driveway."

In most cases, you don’t need a permit to repave your driveway, although some exceptions exist. If you’re widening your driveway and plan on widening the apron as well, you’ll usually need a permit from the Department of Transportation in your area. Driveway paving costs around $4,500 on average, but depending on many factors, you could pay anywhere from $2,500 to $6,600 or more. The size of your driveway will usually be the most significant factor, with more square footage increasing your costs. You can expect to pay between $2 and $15 per square foot for paving services. Whether you should resurface or replace your asphalt driveway heavily depends on its condition. If the foundation is solid and the damage is minor, resurfacing is your best bet because it’s more affordable and faster than replacing the driveway. But if your driveway has foundational problems and/or severe damage, like large, deep cracks and potholes, then it makes more sense to replace it.
