Manuel has a lot of experience and talent and he won't do shoddy work. He is a perfectionist! He also has good taste and recommended changing a ceiling color for contrast. He is very professional, reasonable and takes pride in good work. He did some beautiful drywall work. The paint job is lovely. Just one example of our experience: We had some drywall holes in the closet where someone had accessed the plumbing. We told him just a plain cover of some sort would do and he build a frame enclosing drywall that is removable! Be ready day one. These are professionals and when they arrive they get to work! This is a large older home and they painted everything, including the ceilings, basement, cabinets inside and out. We are VERY picky and have to say this work was beyond excellent.

We made the appointment and within two weeks we had our \"new\" cabinets. Chris had the stain matched to the existing stain on the bookcases. I was amazed how the replaced cabinet face and doors matched the wood stain that had been in the house since 1970 again attention to detail is why we are very happy with the cabinets Chris and his company build for us. We also had him custom build a laundry room closet complete with retractable shelves that I could pull out (the cabinet is as deep as the stacked washer and dryer it sits next to) so not to loose anything in the deep closet. Brad told me it was do-able. I asked many times for a written contract for the work to be done but instead was told of his many satisfied local hospital doctors and a local hospital attorney. He also told me how he was a very dedicated Christian attending a large local church. I made the mistake of giving him a key to our house and he installed the cabinets when I was not home: 1) The kitchen pantry had many paint drip marks and had not been correctly sanded before being painted. The finish was so rough you could snag clothing on it. There was also a large, obvious bulge on the side of the cabinet that looked like a nail/screw had been improperly placed from inside the cabinet during construction. 2) The cabinet over the refrigerator had not been correctly sanded before being painted and the underside of the cabinet was not painted, which could be seenly easily since the underside of the cabinet was 6 inches above the refrigerator. 3) The TV/bookshelf cabinet did not recess into the wall space it was designed for because it was 2 inches too wide and the TV cabinet base covered half of the electrical outlet needed for the TV. It looked ridiculous. I called Brad when I came home and discovered the cabinet problems and he said he would correct them because he wanted me to be satisfied with his work. WRONG. He came the next morning and removed the cabinets, leaving a huge scratch on our living room wood floor as he removed the TV cabinet. He has refused to return any corrected cabinets and will not answer my phone calls or return my messages. I have left messages on his cell phone and his home phone and it has been 5 months since he took the cabinets to correct them. Everything he was paid to do with these cabinets, I have had to hire someone else to start over and do the work. Brad told me he was a Master Plumber and Master Electrician and he did all the work himself. HE DID NOT DO ALL THE WORK HIMSELF. For the laundry room installation, he subcontracted a plumber and I will have to hire a real electrician to correct his electrical work. Brad agreed to have the plumbing and electrical ready before the new washer and dryer were delivered in early December 2011. He did not complete the necessary work before the washer and dryer were delivered but said he could install the washer and dryer for me. He did not attach the washer or dryer to the pedestals before connecting the plumbing and electrical and I had to pay someone to remove the washer and dryer and attach them to the pedestals with the hardware included from the manufacturer. He also did not vent the dryer through the attic and roof and I had to hire a roofer to complete this. Brad made me a real good deal on the leftover tile from another job for the laundry room/den. Brad miscalculated the amount of tile he needed and ran out of tile. I now have a two-colored tile floor because of his mistake, part cream tile and part brown tile. I now have to hire a real tile installer to correct the tile. On November 22, 2011, Brad told me via phone I would pay half of the job up front and the remaining half upon the completion of the job. I paid Brad half of the job when he began the work. He also insisted that the 2 checks be made out to him personally, not to his business Hubbard Construction, because he did not have his DBA papers with him. However, a few days before he was to deliver the cabinets, he said he works on draws and needed another $1,500. I was conned and lied to by this smooth-talking \"Christian\" builder. Shame on me I trusted him and shame on Brad. In 2 checks, I paid him $4,950 and I do not have the kitchen pantry, over the refrigerator cabinet, a TV/bookshelf cabinet, a finished broom closet, nor the bi-fold doors for the washer/dryer closet. I would never use Brad Hubbard again for any type of work and would not recommend him for anything to anyone."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/tx/temple/brad-h-hubbard-construction-reviews-6610350.htm"},"position":7},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"Speedy Rooter","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"TX","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Loney J."},"reviewBody":"I did research on thie company on here and on the BBB and found good rating and one positive comment on here. They were very nice and professional when I called and were very prompt on calling me when on the way to my house so that I could meet them there. I was needing the pipes to my hot water heater raised about 18 inches so a contractor working for me could build a platform for the heater and connect it to the drain, so I also needed the drain checked. The guy arrived and he checked the drain right off and we found it was clear of debris and water was able to drain. He then went over exactly what I was requesting and gave me estimate of $235.00 and would take about 1 hr to do the work. Though I thought this was a bit high, I needed the work done, so I signed on the dotted line. While I'm working about the house, about 15 minutes later he tells me he is finished....hmmmm. I looked in the closet and it looked like all he did was add an 18 inch flex pipe to my pipes and this was it. I told him I didn't think this was right and that he was supposed to move the pipes in the wall up 18 inches. He said that what he did would allow my water heater to be raised without a problem, but because it didn't take him long, he would take off some of the price and my final price for 15 mins of work was $186.00....still pretty expensive. Well my contractor arrived next day to do his work and was not able to do anything because what the plumber did was not correct....as I had thought. He called the plumbing company several times that day and the guy finally called him back about 2:30 and said he couldn't come back to my house till 10:30 the next day, so arrangements were made for them to meet the next day. Plumber and contractor talked and contractor told him exactly what was needed, which was just what I had told him myself. Plumber then did some figuring and said they usually charge $53 as overtime fee, but he would not charge me this and it would only cost me $212.00 to have this done. Now remember I had already paid $186.00 to have this done. Well, my contractor set him right and told him I was not going to pay for this becasue I had already paid and if he had done what he was supposed to do none of this would be having to be done now. After a bit of arguing, the plumber said he would do the work and charge me for material only, which amounted to $36.00. If I had not had contractor there with me, the plumber would have charged me again, to correct something that he should have done right the first time. Granted, the man was always very polite and respectful to me, I felt that I was being taken advantage of and I'm glad I had contractor there to stand up for me and get the matter settled."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/tx/temple/speedy-rooter-reviews-5614987.htm"},"position":8},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"AFFORDABLE SERVICE HEATING, PLUMBING & COOLING","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"TX","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"John G."},"reviewBody":"They did a very good job, they are very nice people. I liked the way they worked, they got the work completed and the people they used to make sure the electrical passed were very good. I didn't have any problems with them at all. I think they were priced very reasonably for what we had done. I have grates in the floor that the air comes in as well as some new vents they put in and I haven't noticed much difference in my bill, just the comfort of my home. They cleaned up very well everyday even though they had to come back the next day and they answered any questions I had. They would always tell me when they were coming, they were always punctual and they worked and took normal breaks. They were industrious people. I had a leak from the monsoon season and they came right out and checked everything out and said they'd be happy to come back out if it ever happened again. They were very professional. I had a whole unit installed on the roof and they removed a gas heater and turned it into a storage closet which was included in the price. I have two disabled children who don't like people in the house and they were able to work without disturbing the children. The way they worked it didn't bother my children which I thought was amazing, they usually don't like the prescence of people but they were not intrusive at all."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/nm/rio-rancho/affordable-service-heating%2C-plumbing-and-cooling-reviews-301990.htm"},"position":9}]}

"Daniel of Amish Cabinets of Texas did a wonderful job installing new custom white oak kitchen, bar and bathroom cabinets throughout our home. He guided us in choosing the perfect wood, stain, and design, completing the project quickly and professionally. He listened to our ideas and paid great attention to every detail, assuring that we could ultimately have the exact final product that we wanted. The final cabinets are beautiful, functional and fit perfectly with the layout of our home. We would very much recommend Daniel and Cindy to anyone looking to remodel and upgrade, as they not only had the experience and knowledge needed to support the custom vision we had for our home; but were always ready available and accessible throughout the process, extremely hard-working and dedicated to making the project work, and clearly had a well-refined communication / workflow with their cabinet-making partners. FAQs for closet service projects in Mexia, TX
Building a custom closet costs about $2,000, on average. Because many types, sizes, and designs are available, the cost to build custom closets ranges from $250 to $6,000 or more. A reach-in closet is on the lower end of the price range from about $250 to $1,500, compared to a walk-in closet at $750 to $3,500 or a wardrobe at the high end between $1,500 and $6,000 or more.
The main difference between a closet and a wardrobe is that a closet is a separate room for general storage with its own door, and a wardrobe can be either built-in or freestanding place to store clothing. A walk-in or reach-in closet connected to a bedroom often serves the same purpose as a wardrobe by primarily storing clothes and shoes. A built-in wardrobe often does not have doors and leaves clothes exposed to view, whereas a standalone wardrobe usually has doors.
You may need a building permit to add a closet, depending on the size and kind of work required to install it. The most likely scenario requiring a permit involves changing the structure of the house and performing electrical work for closet lighting. A permit can cost between $100 and $450. If you’re installing a smaller reach-in closet, a permit may not be required, but always check with your local municipality and consult a closet designer or builder.
Different types of closets are defined mostly by size. A few different types of closets include:
A reach-in closet is a smaller closet that you can stand in front of and reach everything inside it. Aside from the size, the doors and the level of drywall finish are typically the largest price factors.
A walk-in closet can be anything from a small 5-by-5 feet closet that has a narrow walkway with shelves on both sides to a 100 square foot bedroom-sized closet with shelving along the walls and plenty of room to move around in.
A built-in wardrobe often does not have a door and leaves the clothes and other contents open to the room, whereas a closet usually has a door to separate it from the rest of the room.
Yes, building a custom closet can definitely add value to your home. Creating a more useful and pleasing space to your home, especially a custom closet for prospective home buyers to imagine as their own, is likely to increase the value. However, avoid overdoing it with a closet that takes up too much space that’s otherwise more useful as living space, or paying extra for overly lavish materials and finishes that aren’t likely to add more value than they cost.
