"Golden Key Drywall did an excellent job at my home for my two projects. They were small areas but they were extremely professional. They communicated with me during the process and are extremely knowledgeable and experienced. Archie and his brother Hector were excellent! I would hire them again to do any project. I highly recommend them for anybody who needs drywall projects completed."

"Drywall Services provided an overall excellent experience and I highly recommend working with them. To begin, Armando arrived on time to provide a free, professional estimate of the work. In my case, I hired him to replace drywall in my kitchen and also to repair an under sink cabinet that had water damage. His quote and pricing was very fair. On the day of the work, Armando and his team arrived on time and were very efficient! They did a great job on the project and my kitchen looks brand new and I felt completely comfortable with them in my home and the quality of their workmanship. They were also very thoughtful in cleaning up before they left, leaving it spotless. Personally I am already planning to use them again for a future project and would highly recommend hiring them. They are great!"

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Costs depend on labor, material quality, wall preparation, and finishing requirements.

New plaster must be fully dry and cured before painting. The drying time for plaster ranges from 1 to 4 hours, but the curing process can take more than five days, depending on various factors, including humidity levels, temperature, the amount of plaster used, and airflow in the area. You should always apply primer before painting plaster.

Plaster that sags or bulges, shows extensive deep cracks, or is crumbling from water damage or simply time may need replacement. Plaster walls can look a little “worn” for a long time before they need replacing. The only real way to know if it needs a replacement is to hire a professional to assess the condition of the plaster.

A nail in drywall cannot hold very much—usually only a few pounds. A nail in a stud can add support and hold around 20 pounds. If you are trying to hang something heavier, get some help from drywall anchors—toggle bolts are very strong and able to withstand more weight.

Your walls are likely cracking due to fluctuations in the temperature outside. Drywall tends to expand and contract when temperatures and humidity levels change, and this repeated movement can lead to cracks in your walls, particularly around door frames. If you have multiple diagonal cracks, you may want to have your foundation inspected, as cracks can also be a sign of a bigger issue.
