"They were doing some work at my neighbors house. I asked if they did side walks and carports. The gentleman came over and gave me a quote. When they finished next door they come over and did all my cemented areas. I highly recommend them. He was going to include my wooden deck and small back porch. I told him my front porch/deck was OK but he could do the back one."

"This team goes the extra mile to have their customers satisfied. Cleaned my outdoor grill ( looks new) and found areas that other power washers I had hired didnâ t notice. I have already ask him to put me on his calendar twice a year. Very pleased!."

"Very professional and friendly. Did a good job. Good value for the cost of the service. Only reason for not giving it a 5 on Customer Service was because there was a communication problem with not coming at the scheduled time. According to the other reviews, I don't think that this is a constant problem - just a fluke in my case. I would definitively use them again."

Deck Maintenance questions, answered by experts

Yes, it is possible to add an under-deck drainage system to an existing deck by retrofitting it to the structure. This process may require some prep work. For example, many drainage systems are installed on top of the deck joists, which would require you to remove the decking boards and railings first. To avoid this, you could opt for a below-the-joist drainage system. For best results and to ensure proper installation, it is recommended to consult a professional. A pro can inspect your deck, make any necessary repairs, and then install the drainage system correctly.

Yes, you can draw your own deck plans in many cases. However, you must know your local building codes and be familiar with carpentry principles. Even then, it's always best to run your plans by a professional contractor with experience building decks, whether you choose to DIY some of the build or not.

While you can use various materials like sand or even just soil, gravel is widely considered the best option to put under a deck. It provides excellent drainage and is resistant to water, fire, and pests. Gravel also helps anchor the soil to prevent erosion during heavy rain and acts as a built-in weed blocker, reducing regular upkeep. Furthermore, it is simple to spread, available in various textures and tones, and adds a polished look that complements any deck design.

Both deck footings and deck posts help prop up your deck. However, footings are the bottommost parts of a deck that touch the ground. They’re usually made of concrete. Posts are pieces of wood that attach to the top of the footings with brackets. They run upwards and connect to the underside of your deck to support its weight.

In most cases, your deck will need some form of deck footing to hold it in place, preventing moisture from rotting your wood and decreasing your deck’s lifespan. Concrete deck blocks are the most common type of footing for floating decks. Some homeowners use ground-level deck footings. For added security, consider digging and laying your ground-level footings below ground.
