"We hired Nino to repaint our kitchen cabinets and install our new farmhouse sink. He did an excellent job with the whole remodeling. He made sure to keep everything neat and clean and was very professional in doing his job. He made sure he did the job to our satisfaction and made sure we were happy when the job was done. His rate was very reasonable and did it in quick turn around. I will certainly call him back if we ever need anything done again. Overall very very happy the way our kitchen came out, my wife loved it!!!"

"Resurgent Construction did a great job on a kitchen remodel for our church. Nothing had been done to update it since the 70's or 80's. Everything was renewed very professionally - new paint, cabinets, appliances, tile backsplash, granite countertops, flooring, etc. All was done to the highest standards and on budget. Resurgent also handled the bulk of remodeling for our entire building - painting, flooring, lighting, electrical, etc. This included a very large sanctuary, several classrooms, a large hall and two bathrooms. We are very pleased with the final product."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Choosing whether your deck should be lighter or darker than your house is a matter of personal preference, as there is no right or wrong answer. However, considering the pros and cons of each can help guide your decision. Darker colors are often chosen because they show less dirt, footprints, and marks from daily wear, making them easier to keep clean. On the other hand, lighter deck colors tend to stay cooler in the summer. From a design perspective, using a deck color that contrasts with your home's exterior can help make the deck a more defined and distinct feature. Consulting color theory can also make the process of choosing a complementary house and deck color combination easier.

A five-gallon bucket of deck stain will cover roughly 875 square feet in a single coat. Actual coverage will vary based on the type of wood you’re staining and the number of coats. If you plan on doing multiple coats, multiply the square footage by the number of coats to calculate how many buckets of stain you’ll need.

No, it is not okay to paint over rotted wood. Painting over rotted wood will not address the underlying issue and can trap moisture, leading to further decay. Properly addressing the rotted wood by removing and replacing or repairing the damaged areas is necessary before you can even consider painting.

Unless you’re using a 2-in-1 formula or painting over an existing coat of paint, it pays to apply a coat of primer ahead of your new paint. Decks see a lot of footfall and exposure to extreme and sudden temperature changes and moisture levels. The primer promotes better paint adhesion, moisture repellency, and a smoother finish, which means you’ll often need fewer coats of paint.

Yes, pressure-treated wood can occasionally turn green due to certain preservatives, such as copper-based chemicals, used during the treatment process. These chemicals react with the wood, creating a greenish tint. The good news? It's temporary, and the color will fade over time. Staining or painting can also help hide any unwanted hues.
