"Rep. checked entire system. He found several wires not connected properly and fixed this. He also made recommendations regarding the attachment of the panels to the rood that would provide more stability and leakproofing. The representative appeared to know what he was doing - much better than others, including the representative who was engaged by the roofer (who replaced our rood due to hail damage) to disconnect/connect the panels."

"With all the pollen and storms that came with spring my windows, roof, and gutters were really suffering. I decided during my spring cleaning week to look for someone to clean up outside. My neighbor referred me to the company My Beautiful Windows. They did not disappoint. The two young men were delightful and quick to it. They had it all cleaned up in a day! I would personally recommend their services to anyone and have passed the word to my neighbors."

"Extremely happy with Aztec Renewable Energy. It has taken me some time to write a review. Often times we will write a review based on the customer service, installation process etc. I just want everyone to know we are extremely satisfied with our solar panel set up from Aztec. Charles is such a great person to speak with and he will answer any questions with truth and honesty. Just recently I was going to move forward with a project and Charles actually steered me away from making a costly decision because I didn't really need the add on. It's not everyday that someone will go out of their way to help you. I really appreciate the information and from there we made our decision. If you are thinking about solar panels for your home, why wait go with Aztec!!"

Solar Panels questions, answered by experts

There are a few great questions to ask a solar contractor or inspector when you speak to them. You’ll probably want to find out about the energy yield and efficiency of your array, ensuring the actual output matches the amount you calculated when installing the array in the first place. It’s also a good idea to find out about any damage or wear and tear on the array and to inquire about how soon you need to make repairs or replacements to essential components.

The best solar panels to withstand hail are those rated UL 61730. These solar panels are certified to withstand hailstones up to 3 inches in diameter and travel at speeds up to 88 mph. IP68 solar panels are the next most resilient solar panel. Solar panels without these ratings can handle hail up to 1 inch in diameter that travels up to 50 miles per hour. If you live in an area with frequent or severe hailstorms, purchasing UL 61730 solar panels is often worth the investment.

Solar panels should get at least four to six hours of direct sunlight daily. It’s even better if sunlight reaches panels between the peak hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. This is enough to power a home, depending on your solar system’s size and energy needs. Remember that panels will generate some power under cloudy skies or in the shade, and many systems compensate for lower sun exposure by drawing energy from the grid or battery storage.

The average homeowner needs around 22 solar panels, but the exact number depends on your monthly energy consumption. Your solar professional should size your array to offset your consumption, meaning you’ll need fewer panels if you use below-average amounts of electricity, or more than 22 if you use above-average amounts of electricity. The number of panels also depends on the output of each panel. The average is around 400 watts, but you might need more panels if you install less capable equipment. Since there are so many variables, you should have a professional size your system.

Depending on the climate in your area, the best time to install solar panels is either winter or early spring. Summer is a fine time to install panels, too, but it tends to be the busy season, so prices may be higher and companies may have packed schedules. The installation process can take more time than expected between getting permits and finalizing a design, so start as soon as you can.
