The solar business out there is like the Wild West right now. I searched for months all over texas looking for people that aren’t out and out absolute crooks, because this business is full of that. The people that show up at your door, soliciting, in my mind are criminals. Beware of them. Hopefully soon, they will be classified as such, because the horror stories that surround them are legion. This family company, EasTex Solar, is NOT that. I live in Waco and I wanted to get my father’s new place in Texarkana set up right. I seeked them out because I did my research after hearing so many horrid schemes from my neighbors about getting ripped off by these door to door solicitors, just out there fleecing the elderly. I called this company up. They didn’t call me. And Reece was great. He 100% understood my fears when I told him how much apprehension I had about this business. But, these folks run a straight business. I started the process with requesting a quote in early June. The owner came out to the property and was there for over an hour, looking, measuring, and listening to me and my father’s concerns. He set our minds at ease to proceed. We were juiced up and cooking by mid July. I never once had to deal with the electric company, save for digitally signing a few documents through email. The installers were kind and patient with my elderly and onery father. They showed up on time, put in full days, and even listened to my old man talk loud on the porch, when they didn’t have to. The system is working great. Reece spent almost an hour explaining the app to me. I have no complaints. I was not told pie in the sky lies. I was given honest assessments about what to expect. I do believe these folks are straight and true. Hopefully I will get my own house done in the next couple years. And I would not even consider using any other company but this one.

We recently had a residential solar system installed by Eastex Solar consisting of 12.5 kW of solar panels, a 13kW power inverter/manager, and 32 kWh of LiFePO4 batteries. The Eastex team designed a system to meet my goals and provided a detailed design package for my approval, answering questions along the way to make sure I was getting everything I wanted. The system was installed by their dedicated crew in four days, at the end of which I was powered up and making electricity. The ability to sell excess power back to the grid followed a few days later after my electricity provider approved the installation. My two goals were to minimize our usage of grid power year around and to provide a robust backup for when the grid goes down, which doesn't happen frequently but is still inevitable in our semi-rural heavily wooded part of East Texas. The system has worked splendidly so far, and I've been optimizing our electricity usage schedule to take advantage of peak production as well as experimenting with strategies for using the batteries to minimize the need for grid power day and night. I've been pleasantly surprised by how much power we produce even on cloudy days. Based on our experience so far, I am confident our natural gas heated house will require very little grid power all winter, and on sunny days we don't require much grid power even when running our air conditioning. I highly recommend Eastex Solar to anyone considering a solar installation. Their components, electrical materials, and installation team are all first class. We had three other proposals to consider before choosing Eastex, and nobody else came close to meeting my system goals for a good price.

The team at Eastex Solar did a fantastic job on our project. The installation was as clean as it could possibly be. The support after the installation has also been fantastic. We highly recommend Eastex for all your solar needs.

Highly recommended! All questions were answered quickly and thoroughly from design through installation. Very honest and upfront with strengths and limitations of systems. Very friendly and knowledgeable, too. In our search for a solar company, we'd deal with companies who took their time answering questions (if they answered them at all), sell inferior systems for large sums or would want a hard credit check before they'd even look at the exposure or roof. All of these were deal breakers for the other companies. In contrast, Cal took the time and looked at our roof, made further design adjustments, all before we even signed anything. So, far things are running as we would expect considering the orientation of our roof, yard, exposure and sunlight/weather this time of year.

The best recommendation for a company is when you use them twice. Two years after EasTex installed the first system for me, I used them again to put a system on my home in McKinney. The entire team (Cal, Reece, Xochytl, Luke, Al) are a pleasure to do business with. Quality, timely, reliable and if I ever have a question or issue, I know I can give them a call.
