"These guys are GREAT!!! The quote that Cecil gave me was the best of 4 quotes. The price was ridiculously cheaper than all the others. These guys knocked out cutting down two super large pecan trees and trimming another in record time. They raked and cleaned up afterwards and left my yard looking better than when they arrived. I'm super happy that I found them to do the job. I will have them back again when I need them. Don't waste your time on anyone else, Woodson Tree Service is the best!!!"

Small jobs welcome

"We hired GOAT Land and Property to do some land clearing behind our yard. They were GREST!!!! Family business, we we prefer, that showed up when they said, charged what they said and finished when they said. Very reasonable and very honest folks. They offered a military discount which I greatly appreciated. They cut down and cleared 6 cedar trees and 3 oak trees in total. When I need the rest cleared to build our shop, I will definitely call GOAT. I would recommend them to anybody."

"The two young men who own this business were nothing short of amazing! I didn't have just regular sized trees...they are extremely tall. They not only cut them back for me, but they were able to remove a fallen branch from the storm a year ago in May that nobody else would touch. It was about 20 to 25 feet tall and was completely detached but leaning up against the trunk and right above my pool!! They cleaned everything up and did it all in a timely manner. They had impeccable customer service and incredible prices. I would not hesitate to call them again. Thanks guys!!"

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

DIY is risky and not recommended for large trees; professional services ensure safe removal and proper disposal.

The best time to transplant a tree is when it is dormant. For many trees, this means either in the fall after the leaves have dropped (around October or November) or in early spring before new growth begins (around March). The ideal timing can depend on the type of tree. Deciduous trees do well when moved in early spring or fall, while evergreens are best transplanted in early spring or late summer. For example, pine trees are best moved in early fall, but maples prefer late fall. Avoid transplanting in winter, as the frozen or hard, cold soil poses a significant risk to the roots and prevents the tree from acclimating properly.

Tree pruning is a common and helpful tree maintenance technique that involves carefully cutting and trimming unwanted branches so that the tree can continue to grow and thrive. Pruning is done carefully and intentionally. Tree topping is a frowned-upon method that involves removing and cutting most or the entirety of the top of the tree, including structurally important branches.

Cutting down a tree next to power lines is never a DIY job, and it’s a good idea to contact your utility company first. In most cases, the utility company will need to take care of any tree problems within 10 to 15 feet of power lines. If you want to remove the tree for aesthetic reasons, hire a pro to do the job. Trying to cut trees near power lines yourself can create many safety hazards, and you could be liable if you inadvertently cause damage to electrical equipment.

There are several signs that may indicate a tree needs to be cut down. These include visible damage to the trunk or branches, a hollow trunk, extensive storm damage, or a significant lean to one side. Other warning signs are pest infestations or the tree growing too close to a house, power lines, or other structures. It is best to hire a professional arborist to inspect the tree, as they can determine if it can be saved or if removal is necessary.
