"I am going to be as honest as possible to help out the next person in their decision to hire him. First and foremost he is a great guy and friendly, he knows what he is doing and his workmanship is top notch. I initially hired him for a patio / porch and then a 3car garage. When he started it was going well and after I paid him a little more so he could get ahead, he would run out of material and would just leave without saying anything. His work was impressive but I felt he became complacent and started cutting corners because he ran out of money to buy materials. As an example: Not planning ahead, he left a portion of my roof exposed and the rain went into my home causing considerable sheet rock and insulation damage. He could have covered it to prevent some of the damage but his response was â I canâ t control the weatherâ . That was disappointing as I had to cover that bill myself. On the 3 car garage, I ran into the same problem. He started slowing down I was a little disappointed with the timelines. He would show up and work a few hours then leave. Despite me asking for a blueprint or plan. He failed to provide one. On several occasions he ran out of material and the work was delayed. The workers he had would come to me and say they would have to leave because there was no more material. I did notice that when you asked him questions he would get a little defensive. Unfortunately some of his hard work was tarnished by his lack of planning despite being paid in advance. Half of my structure remained exposed due to lack of planning on his part. Towards the end of the project he was piecing boards together and using left over scraps as patch up work. I did question him on a few things like hauling of the leftover material but he referred to the contract and said it was not in the contract. However, he was willing to charge me more money to get it removed. In order to end in good terms, I just wanted him to finish what he started and paid him to avoid further disappointment. I still have left over material to haul away, a few areas to patch, tape and seal. I would recommend him because of the skill he has however, I may or may not hire him again. I would let the next person know to MAKE SURE you read the contract very carefully, ask questions and request plans with a timeline or you will have to hire other people to finish his work. I have plenty of pictures to share if interested."

"After a great night of Mexican food and margaritas at Funky Baja, we pulled up to our house right as a massive hail storm hit our neighborhood. Windows broke, cars were damaged and yes, our roof was totaled. Once the weather moved out and the sun came up the next day Brent Bolte with Bold Roofing was at our home, up on the roof and calming our nerves. He was thorough in his evaluation, he worked with us and our insurance agency to ensure we were getting the coverage we needed, he was transparent in his communication, and most importantly Brent showed up on time, every time we were scheduled to meet. Brent even took the time to drive around our neighborhood with my wife to look at different shingle color options in an effort to ensure we were happy with the color we chose. "It's funny... we've been considering a foundation repair company for our current house, and my wife mentioned Integrated Foundation Solutions, which then rang a bell. The experience to follow happened years ago, and we never posted a review to reflect the lousy service from IFS. Truthfully, I think we were too hacked off by the whole experience to focus, at the time. But, after finding all the old emails today, with all the salient details intact, I thought I'd rectify that mistake. (Quoted verbiage to follow is verbatim from emails.) Short version: Before the sale of our previous house, we brought out IFS to level our foundation. Schaun (owner) and Diane (coordinator) sent out a crew headed up by Arlen... during the foundation leveling, one of Arlen's crew kicked loose a plumbing pipe, which then proceeded to soak a portion of the carpet and baseboard in the nearest room. No one on the crew told us, perhaps no one noticed. (Arlen even went so far as to say that there was "not a doubt in his mind" that one of his guys had kicked the pipe connection loose. Further, Arlen mentioned that it was the third occasion one of his team members had caused damage on the job, in the few weeks previous.) After we brought out a plumber for repairs, IFS said that "flooring folks" had been contacted re: examining and repairing the damage caused during the foundation work done by IFS. Later, "flooring folks" became Chris, the boyfriend of Diane, the job coordinator. Chris then proceeded to do a sketchy job repairing the baseboard -- painting it while it was still swollen from the leak, thus causing the color to not match at all, despite him being "in the flooring business for many years" -- so then he had to come out again, and was clearly not thrilled to do so. Schaun would also "not authorize using a carpet cleaning company" to clean the carpet, as a result of his team's screw-up, but they had "already rented a Rug Doctor type machine". Aside from costing us time, this was incredibly frustrating, though I remained pleasant and genial over all email exchanges. We only wanted our house back like it was, before IFS caused some damage. Remember, we were in the process of selling the house and there was a contract pending. Clearly, IFS was attempting to be as cost-efficient as possible, for their own bottom line, though when I recapped the situation, the response I received from Schaun was very defensive. His explanation of "I guess if I had charged as much as the other company wanted, this would be a no-brainer and I'd have everything fixed perfectly" really sums up the entire experience, in that he not only reacted defensively to repeated mistakes MADE BY HIS COMPANY, but admitted that they had not fixed everything perfectly. He also said that in regards to repairing the damage caused by his people, "since this was not a regular profit situation, it is only fair that I utilize people that will save me money to make repairs". Which is sort of funny, in that he is again framing the mistakes & damages made by his company as a "situation" by which HE should be treated fairly, rather than the homeowners on the receiving end. Finally, Schaun ended with a suggestion that we be "realistic" in our expectations... "Remember, we've been on top of this from beginning to end so far... you've had everything done immediately and without a word from us". Well, bully for you, Schaun... your people caused damaged that required multiple repairs, and you didn't even complain about our more than reasonable request for that damage to be repaired. Well done! There's every possibility that IFS has matured and is now a dandy company. Perhaps all these secondary and tertiary employees have moved on. But as we bring out foundation companies to look at our current house, we will absolutely not consider IFS. Never again. Because the owner then is apparently still the owner, today. YMMV."
