We specialize in drill-n-fill to exterior walls where no insulation exists, re-insulation of attics to increase R-value and garage door insulation kits.

"Used Affordable Insulation to blow in fiberglass insulation into attic above 3 car garage. They were quick to reply to my initial inquiry and follow up questions. Marc had the estimate to me the same day I contacted them. Their estimate was much more affordable (pun intended!) than another quote I received. I was very pleased with their number and was ready to hire them. The team of Jason, Jason, and Daniel were courteous, friendly and professional. They called ahead and showed up as scheduled. They made quick work of the job. The job came out looking great. Insulation depth was a couple inches deeper than expected so was pleased about that as well. They ensured no insulation was in the overflow drain pans of water heater or AC since that could clog the overflow drains causing them to backup. They cleaned up all excess insulation that had fallen into the garage. Attention to detail was superb. I highly recommend Affordable Insulation."

Spreading tin foil over your windows works similarly to radiant barrier insulation, but not as well. It will reflect some of the sunlight that would otherwise come through the glass and warm up the inside of your home, so it might help a little to keep your home cool in the summer. However, the appearance isn’t preferable to blinds or drapes that can offer the same benefits. You might also consider tinting your windows instead, which is a more aesthetically pleasing change that can still block a good portion of the solar heat coming through your windows.

The heat loss through a poorly insulated attic when you’re running your furnace or heat pump during cold weather can be as high as 25%. This means you could see significantly higher energy costs to make up for this heat loss. The cost of adding insulation to the attic may eventually pay for itself through lower energy bills. If you decide to add a radiant barrier too, the radiant barrier cost may also pay for itself over time.

Insulation can be made of cellulose, fiberglass, polyurethane, polystyrene, or mineral wool. Radiant barriers are often made of aluminum or other similarly reflective materials, but they will need to be paired with something else because they don’t provide heating benefits. The price will increase if you choose to rent for additional days, but you may get a discounted daily rate if you rent it for a whole week, which could cost up to $1,000. Once you've removed the insulation and are ready to replace it, the cost to rent a blown-in insulation machine ranges between $100 and $500.

Fiberglass provides good thermal resistance, helping regulate garage temperatures and minimize heat transfer. Additionally, fiberglass is moisture-resistant, reducing the risk of mold or mildew formation.
