"We called Robert Carrillo who was recommended to us to have our roof replaced with a metal roof. After talking to Robert we checked with him on a 10' X 24' patio cover before having the roof replaced to save time and perhaps save money by having everything done at one time. The price was very reasonable and we gave him the go-ahead on the patio cover and roofing. We went down to Metal Mart and paid for the metal and while the metal was being cut and shipped to Belton, Robert had his crew come in and build the patio cover. As soon as the metal was shipped, Robert picked it up began the installation of the roof. We had two sheets of plywood (4'X8') that needed replaced and Robert's crew replaced the plywood, removed the shingles and hauled all old roofing away. The roof on the house and shop (12'X24) roofs look so nice that Robert would gladly our house to show you one of the homes he has repaired. His workmanship is a credit to the neightborhood."

"They were wonderful. Jesse the owner, was so accommodating to travel to Meridian where my brother’s house and build the ramp for him. It came out beautiful and my brother who had an leg amputation recently was so happy with it. I can’t say enough words on how great they were to work with. I would highly recommend them and will hire them again."

Patio Covers questions, answered by experts

Hurricane fabric is a temporary form of hurricane protection that offers an alternative to boarding up windows or installing traditional storm panels. Unlike hurricane screens, which are permanently attached to your home, hurricane fabric is installed over your windows and other openings before a storm.

In terms of effectiveness, hurricane fabric is tested and proven to protect homes from Category 5 hurricanes, which can have winds over 157 miles per hour. When installed properly, it is designed to block the majority of wind and rain and protect against water, debris, and projectile damage.

While the fabric is exceptionally durable, windows can still break if hit directly by flying debris at high velocity. However, it is a good protective measure against an impending storm. For comparison, hurricane fabric is more protective and durable than hurricane window film. While boarding up windows is easier than installing the fabric, it is more labor-intensive and requires storing heavy plywood.

To further increase the chances of your windows surviving a hurricane, you can take additional steps like securing outdoor items, elevating HVAC units, and fortifying your home's foundation.

Metal awnings last much longer than fabric thanks to their durability and resistance to fading, sun damage, and damage from the outside elements. They also need less maintenance than fabric options. Both items add curb appeal to your home, but you shouldn't expect either type of awning to add property value to your home.

Yes, awnings can add value to a home, primarily by boosting its curb appeal and providing more usable outdoor space. While the exact monetary return on investment depends on the awning's size, style, and quality, they offer an excellent appeal factor to potential buyers. For example, an awning with a trendy metal roof can be particularly attractive. Even if the direct increase in resale value is modest, a well-chosen awning enhances the home's functionality and aesthetic.

Aluminum patio roofs can make noise during rainstorms, though how much noise they make depends on how heavy it’s raining and if the roof is insulated or not. Light rain falling on your roof might sound soothing but if you live in an area with serious and consistent rainfall, the novelty of the sound might wear off. In any case, the rain you'll hear shouldn't sound louder than a normal conversation or air conditioner, about 50 dB to 55 dB.
