"I have a commercial building with an unusual gutter / downspout situation. The building, while rather new, floods due to excessive water coming down from an upper roof, to a lower roof, then onto the ground - with a higher than normal grade in this one particular area. I worked with Craig McCully from brothers gutters . com. Craig was super to work with, took time to let me explain and understand this situation. He climbed the roof and devised a plan that appears quite plausible. I've received the estimate a short time later and I'm pleasantly surprised with the quote. I will be hiring them soon to do the job. BTW, two other gutter companies came out looked up in the air and basically walked away without looking back. You won't have this kind of reception with Brothers Gutters. Highly pleased I am!"

"This was a replacement of a very old metal roof. Hill Country Roofing had some problems with their supplier so there was a delay in completing the roof, but they made sure we were "dry" during the interim. In general, the project was completed without any inconvenience to us. They did a good job of cleaning up the old roofing and the detritus associated with roofing projects. In all it was a very pleasant experience."

Small jobs welcome

"This job involved reconfiguration of our gutter downspout and extension. It was a straightforward repair job. Austin contacted us immediately and after some texting and phone calls to determine the scope of the work, he arrived the next day and completed the job in less than an hour. We are very pleased with all aspects of this business transaction."

Gutter Repair and Replacement questions, answered by experts

Properly installed gutters should be able to function normally in heavy rains. Allowing water to overflow can cause water damage around your home's basement or foundation. If the overflow is caused by a simple clog, paying a gutter cleaning cost of $125 to $250 may be enough to get the gutters running clear again. If there's a larger issue, you may need to repair or replace your gutters.

Yes, it’s possible to replace only one section of a gutter, and it’s a common repair. Often, a tree limb will damage a gutter on one side of the house, or constant weather will cause early corrosion. Gutters are often joined together with couplings that are easy to remove and swap out. For this reason, some homeowners will purchase extra gutters when they install them to have spare sections to use for replacement later.

Yes, gutter repair is almost always worth the investment. Some homeowners believe that gutter repairs are only to improve the home’s curb appeal, but gutters play a pivotal role in protecting your foundation from damage and structural instability, and they also prevent water damage to your soffits, fascia, roof, and exterior walls. You will pay an average of around $400 to have your gutters professionally repaired, but it’s worth it even for the peace of mind of knowing that one of your largest investments is adequately protected from the elements.

Zinc gutters can truly last a lifetime. As one of the strongest materials used for roofing and gutter systems, zinc can last up to 90 years. Even copper gutters don't last as long as zinc gutters. Zinc gutters are a long-lasting investment in both the value and appearance of your home.

Icicles don't necessarily mean your gutters are clogged or bad, but they can indicate an underlying issue. While clogged gutters can cause icicles to form, the problem could also be an ice dam on your roof from poor insulation. In that case, melting snow can refreeze in the gutter even without a clog. Regardless of the cause, the weight of the ice can damage your gutters or even rip them completely off the house. If you are unsure of the underlying problem, it's best to call a roofing company to assess the issue and implement a permanent solution.
