"After a myriad of negative and just plain bad contractors over the years, Erich was just the right handyman to restore my faith and trust in hiring a contractor! He was very competent, arrived on time, friendly, honest and meticulous about the details of the repairs I needed done. Erich is easy to work with and easy to communicate with regarding repairs. I WILL use him again, soon."

"He was very meticulous on each project making sure it met our satisfaction. There were few delays in any of the projects. Once he started, he continued until finished unlike some handymen who are working more than one customer at a time. He always cleaned up at the end of the day. His range of skill and ability are wide. He has been able to do all projects we asked of him. If he was not skilled in that area, he always told us. His prices were very reasonable. He is easy to work with and works around our schedule."

Pool Table Assembly questions, answered by experts

While you can save some money by digging your own pool, you may end up paying more in construction equipment rental fees in the long run. You could, however, focus your DIY energies on lowering the cost of leveling your lawn for your pool or filling in surrounding landscaping after construction.

No, pool jets should not have air coming out. While it’s a common problem, making it seem like air coming out is the norm, bubbling pool jets are a sign of loose bearings or fittings, or low water levels. You should get to the bottom of your jets releasing air bubbles because it could be a sign that there’s air entering the pump, which can shorten the lifespan of your pump or lead to costly repairs.

Most importantly, you should never cut corners when building a pool. Whether it’s an in-ground or aboveground, poorly constructed pools are dangerous to both the swimmers and your property. Leaks can even lead to home foundation damage. While you can DIY smaller elements of pool installation, always hire a contractor to oversee the process.

DIY is not recommended due to its complexity. Professional installation ensures proper fitting and longevity.

Calcium hypochlorite, or cal-hypo, tends to be the best shock for an above ground pool. It is widely available, affordable, and powerful. Cal-hypo shock is typically 65% to 75% chlorine and is very effective at ridding a pool of bacteria or other contaminants.
